Ooops, been a bit slow in replying - soz. Haven't had access to a computer since I've been skiving off work....anyhoo, no I've never been to Middlesbrough, only passed through on many a National Express coach journey. And you're quite right, that hideous car park is due to be pulled down. I'm actually in Gateshead at the minute, visiting the parents and I passed the monstrosity when I was on the into 'the toon'. It actually looks even worse because half of it has been painted yellow and green......:(
So then, let me ask you - ever frequent The Riverside in you days of debauchery......?:)

That's great news about the car park Kezzie - !! Considering Newcastle/Gateshead are now bidding to be European City Of Culture as well, so that should help no end, giving the place a damn good clean up me thinks. Wallsend is a fookin violent place now - I'd never take me kids there . And yep - the Riverside - most of my best late 80's early 90's pop memories are stored there and debauchery is the best word to describe my time there too - all them fooking wild club nites! (and Newcastle Mayfair too - before the place was sadly closed down) plus it was at a local bands nite gig there that I met my girl Charlie....oh aye...(she comes from North Shields!)
Riverside was the first club I ever went to! Went to see Alice Donut there at the tender age of 15. It was a downward spiral from then on really.... :) Many a Saturday night spent in the Mayfair too - much amusement had to be laughing at the 45 year old glam rockers;)
You know something Kezzie? I nearly got fooking blinded once at the Mayfair, well, to be exact it was outside the venue - I was just going past with a few of my drinking buddies and there were LOADS of these hideous soft-metal rockers all milling around waiting to get in (think Saturday nite is AOR/Poodle-rock Metal night or somethin....), Anyway, two of these sad fookers started dicking about and just as I passed them, one of them lurched in front of me and the back of his mullet smashed right against my face - I'm telling you, I could have sued the fooker for inflicting potential whiplash injuries with his fooking beaver paddle - bastard. I've never had a good word to say about their type since.... :(
By the way, you may have noticed my posts log has changed - I've had to start a new account again from scratch as the older one (using an email address that I no longer have) has inexplicably died on me, but that's no problem - I'm not arsed about any of this fancy transferring of posts over - that's just for obsessive number-crunching saddoes, so I'm happy to carry on as it is, but at least I've got my profile up on the board this time... :)
