Hi folks

I had a mail the other day asking me if I'd like to watch the chaps live on-stage on Monday in Mancunianland. It's a fiver, payable by text message. Fuck knows what the quality will be like or what time they're on - the people haven't replied to my mail asking about it - but it could be decent.

If you're interested, text NEWORDER to 60999. Anyone know how I can record the footage on my PC as I'd like to burn a DVD of it for my own personal use (and anyone else who'd like a free copy).

Cheers!

Bought me a e-ticket looking forward too it,with for example Net Transport it's no problem to download it. Just go to clip properties in Real player, view clip info copy and paste it to Net transport. The free turin brakes concert on livegigsonline looked pretty good in terms of picture quality.

Having bought an eticket for the netcast - what time do you think New Order will hit the stage???

I would guess around 9'ish - they came onto stage at Brixton between 9:15-9:30, so I would assume same time for Apollo.

nice one mate, just downloaded the free 90 day trial of net transport just gotta work it out now :uhoh:

I'm well equiped to download those.. but the thing that sucks big time is that they hit the stage while I'm still at work, so I can't watch it live at all :(

..if u figure it out would love a copy. will cover postage if required. cheers

Do we get to see ACR as well? not clear from the gigsonline website

Read somewehere (think acr website) that acr is part of the webcast, other question :when downloading with nettransport you're getting a ram file, is this the best possible quality or are there other ways for a better quality? Checked it at ACR website, will be broadcasted According to Apollo website kick off time is 19:30 your time

Cheers, Remko. Looks like it'll be feet up in front of the PC tonight!

Cool. I suppose the running order will go something like this then:

ACR on-stage: 7.30 (end around 8.15) De-rig their gear: 8.15-8.45 The Order on-stage: 8.50 or so.

Excuse my ignorance but I've never used Net Transport before and I'd like to get the saving of the footage right first time so could the bloke who posted the 'how to' details post a step-by-step thing so we can all get it right?!

Cheers and hi to Delilah in Richmond town!

Dont know how the live quality will be tonight, maybe it's better to download it at the moment it's archived on the livegigsonline site, but anyway this how to do it

-View concert via Real player,

-Goto file on the Real player,

-Goto clip properties,

-View clip info,

-Copy the URL in View clip info,

-Open Nettransport,

-Click NEW on the Nettrasnport bar,

-Copy the URL from clipinfo into this field,

-Decide which directory,

-Click OK and your download should start

Good luck

Same here. Let's hope we gets some rarely-played material since it's a "homecoming" gig. What do you reckon? EGG again? Love to hear something they've not played live before... Here To Stay... Guilt Is A Useless Emotion...

Hope it's not the usual bog standard set list! Bet we'll hear Warsaw again too!

This is terrible. ACR sounded hot, but only heard about %30 of the entire set due to jerkiness and connection problems. Absolutely terrible.

If they claim to offer such a fantastic service, they should know that they are capable of supporting however many of us are watching it right now. Trouble with the net is that the ideas for great services are there, but the technology isn't quite up to the potential as yet!

We should wait and see how it goes, but I'm asking for a refund on the basis that I also wanted to see ACR live (for the 1st time).

Pitiful.

Andy

I have just emailed this:

I have paid five pounds this evening to watch both New Order and A Certain Ratio (whom I have never seen play live before), and was wondering if I can expect a reliable, constant stream at some point this evening, or if I should simply ask for my refund now and stop wasting my time. I reckon I managed to see 30% of ACR's set, and even then it was stopping and starting all over the place, despite your website telling me my connection was fine for streaming your content.Am very annoyed that the service your site is claiming to offer does not seem to live up to its description, and that I have potentially wasted an evening.Andrew Morrison

I'm giving up on this now.

Fucking atrocious. I'm actually on a lightspeed fast connection right now and the server at best was choking out globs of video with some (admittedly) not bad sound. During ACR anyway. Now it isn't working at all.

Send them to the dogs. I wonder if their server is being slowed down by the vast amount of email complaints they're getting :abovelol:

At least we'll be able to rewatch it once it's already gone, eh guys? And I did at least see them in London :hat:

I got a password on the basis of seeing the gig live, I certainly would never pay £5 to watch some pixely RealMedia file afterwards. Also, of course, the archive only works for seven measly days.

Why those butthole surfers are making such a offer when they cant live to there promises.

Shockingly bad.

This was my first experience of pay-per-view webcasting and I'm not well disposed to going for it again after this fiasco. I got about ten minutes of ACR then it cut. It eventually restarted and I got the whole of the de-rigging (great!). It went off again before the Order came on...assuming they did...and I've been getting the 'general error' shit ever since.

I've mailed them about a refund. Poor fucking do.

Cheers to Chris Nash who is there tonight (lucky bleeder) and Delilah in Richmond. How goes it with you, Claire?

You'd think they'd have the decency to take the advert for it off their homepage. As it stands other people joining up late are also going to be very disappointed.

Well, paid a fiver and got zip. Not the first time that's happened! All I can say is, I hope the archive of the gig will be online and a refund forthcoming otherwise im paying a visit to Hooky's hair dresser :)

what a waste of an evening. But I might track down some ACR stuff at some point - they sounded damn fine

Oh well, it's a shame really, maybe they didn't expect that much people watching the gig, it's the only explanation I can figure.

It sure isn't good for reputation, especially when people paid to watch it *LIVE*

i have always known it as Warsaw but as everyone keeps bloody referring to it as 31G these days (copyright, Edith Bowman) its simpler to refer to it as that

Hi, I paid £5 in good faith to see new order LIVE but unfortunately got to see probably 4 and a half songs(which were constantly buffering) and the rest of the time I received error messages,I know that I was not the only one with the problem because I was logged on to www.neworderonline for the course of the concert and everyone on there also had problems,I understand that I will be able to view the concert for a further 7 days but the whole point of me paying the £5 was to see it LIVE i could have downloaded the concert from probably numerous sources if I wanted to see it after the event has happened. Due to the problems in viewing the concert I would obviously like to be fully refunded if you could send me details of how to get refunded it would be appreciated,I paid the money by text, thanks for your help.

I just sent 'em this:

I have already emailed you this evening about my inability to see the New Order gig at your website and I demand a refund. The service your website has offered has been shoddy at best and I want my money back - and still want the facility to watch this gig at (hopefully) some point during the next seven days to make up for not actually seeing it live, as your site claimed I would be able to do. You will see from th literally hundreds of complaints at http://www.neworderonline.com/Forums/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=25493&PageIndex=2 that I am not the only one to have experienced problems this evening, and I would like a response from you to confirm that you have read and received this message, and that you will be refunding my debit card while allowing me to still view the recording of the concert.

You should all do the same.

New Order refer to it as 31G on their set list.

Hmm. A bleeding heart reply. Here's part of it.

Of 380 people logged on we got 23 people who told us they had problems of which you were one.

Now the reality is that we know we had more trouble that just 23 and to that end we’re sending the attached mail as a batch.

I do think that you are over-reacting without knowing the issues.

From my point of view the broadcast cost me personally just over £3000 and I sold tickets to the value of £1900 but I had 2500 people watching which means 2120 people stole the broadcast.

I think i'll reply telling him he can stick his fiver

Same probs here, most I've got to is 16%, never had no probs before. At first I thought it was because I'm using a wireless network at home. Looking for other programs, found one called 'Flashget' but not had chance to try it.

Would'nt care, I can't even watch it streaming it, to much buffering....BAH !!!!

Would love a copy. What we do on a stranglers board is, 1 person downloads it, then 5 or 10 people email him for copies, then people email them 10 people for a copy, so everyone can get a copy,eg, people on dial-up connections, and so-on. Bit like a pyramid scheme.

Shalll we try it ?

Anyone had any luck converting the realmedia to dvd? All my linux tools seem to produce invalid crap when I try it, and everything I've tried in LOSEDOS-XP, has pretty much done the same except taking longer and been much sneakier about revealing it was making pish. The Third member of the long standing Bangor Order is currently preparing to release Son 2.0 and was unable to attend, in fact there was a serious chance the wee fooker would pop out while me and his father were in the Apollo :) We promised her a copy, and I think any VERY preggers chick who sends her man off with her self-adopted brother to see her favourite band, deserves a medal.

Thanks to Remko, I've managed to download the full gig, now I also need to convert it to DVD, will be working on it tonight. Anyone with dial-up who wants a copy, I can send it as data format for now, with the basic realplayer on one cd.

PM me if interested.

Hopefully have it on dvd soon. Looking for rm to dvd converters, but with serial numbers .... Limewire maybe :-)

PS...... Yes I did pay my fiver for it,even tho I was at the gig (£3 now tho :banghead: )

I used xillisoft to convert it out of rm, to almost every supported format, but nerovision will not import any of them.

in linux, my own scripts I usually use (which use the video player program as their decoder, sneaky eh?), give me a good soundtrack and a scrambled green picture, suggesting the reported resolution and the actual resolution may be different. BUT the really mad thing is, that because of hom my scripts work, if you can play it, you can decode it.....until now.

All the stuff by other people in linux demultiplexes the rm fine, then falls over claiming the files it just made are invalid. had a bad power outage here a while ago, possibly linux box has been cunted for weeks and I aint just noticed yet.

So....you gonna share it then

Also managed to decode and burn a test, but pic is green and 'scrambly' Maybe 'cos it was a web broadcast. I don't expect dvd quality, but what fps did you decode it to. I downloaded a trial of 'Boilsoft RM converter' but it leaves writing across the de-coded vid. Gonna have to find a serial number. I downloaded two 'cracked' copies off Limewire, but as 95% of the time, riddled with virus's

Yeah, drop me a line with your address and I'll send you one.

I used 'dvd Santa' to do the conversion. Shite name for a program, but it did the job. The only 'catch' with the demo version is that it puts a small "Trial version, to order visit blah blah" message in the top corner, but that disappears never to return after few seconds.

Don't let the 'Will show "Demo Version" text on the output video' bit put you off, it's only in the corner and disappears after a few seconds.
