what the fuck is this. he just looks like he's concentrating. ok he no longer seems to sing along to the songs, and these days he probably thinks more of the band as a job rather than a calling, but who can blame him. As long as he's there providing the beats i don't care what he looks like.

He wasn't concentrating at the end of one track in Manc. Completely missed the last couple of bars. Then again Hooky missed his cue a few times. That's why I love em

Yeah it looks like he's thinking bout his machines, people have got some horrid photo's of me just standing vacant of life, wondering about what button needs pushed next to avert disaster. And Drummers have a history of blank looks, at college we termed it the "the hamster is off the wheel" look.

He's probably worried that twist is sneaking backstage with Gillian.

Probably missing his wife and kids ... so far from home all alone. The poor little soldier.

Looks more like he's dozed off... probably past his bedtime.

This is the look of a man who has spent many a year suffering the tyranny of Barney and his amateur guitar tunning tasks.

He's got a habit of pulling some strange faces whilst a drumming. Mouth open most of the time...

BINGO! I have a magic bass, once the bastard's in tune and settled, that's IT, it never moves, even when thrown up in the air and allowed to hit the ground ( used to end sets that way, hurl it up in the air, still pulgged in, and walk under it and off the stage before it came bashing down with a fairly impressive noise, until it came down on the cable one night and ripped the socket out ooooops). So i'd walk on and be ready to go, as would the drummer....we'd spend like 10 mins chatting while the inferior's tuned their horrid widdly things. The only thing more annoying is a keyboard player who's "borrowed this great keyboard from a mate cos it mate a class noise that would sound great in $SONG", 10 mins of button pushin and menumadness between every song cos the dense git can't find sounds for all the OTHER songs.

:banghead:

EDIT: I was doing sound for this band one night, and the harmonica player (and front man) was fucking losing it because of his pets and their constant tuning (even the fucking brass were at it), he sidles over to the mic and says....

"the rest of the band are improvising around an old chinese piece entitled Chu Ning" Bastard made me spit pizza all over my desk.

Name one, who isn;t shite beyond compare (or even one who is) who doesn't gurn like a master, or at very least lok like they've just received a blow on the head. It's my contention that they have to shut off all higher cerebral functions ( should such exist in drummers, medical evidence is inconclusive), or they go completely wrong.....ask them what tempo they reckon they're playing or something, and, assuming you get a response, listen to them do something that sounds an awful lot like Cubase does when playing back drums on a slow system and you open a new task......hmmmmmmmmm

it's either that or they really do only have 3 braincells, meaning it really does take all their brainpower to count to 4 (in binary), and because all the grey matter is being used for counting they have no memory, so they can't remember the last bar, and have to keep counting, they actualgroove they play is just rote-learned muscle memory :)
