Returning to the setlist this year was EGG, plus Turn finally showed and Ceremony made a few appearances.
But the revival of Warsaw and Shadowplay has seemed to garner more applause than anything else. And here I thought everyone was opposed to bringing back more Joy Division songs. Hypocrites.
i can understand everyone's concern to letting one man's work rest in peace. however, i think plenty on JD work to be revived!!! i would love to hear NO's jam rendition of Autosuggestion live/or even studio version!!!

They've never done Autosuggestion, so don't know where you picked this idea up from?!
As far as Warsaw/Shadowplay go, it was a great privilege to hear/see them at the Peel Day gig. That should have been a one-off though, and I really don't welcome either of them to the set as fixtures. The other JD stuff they insist on doing is ok now, as they've learned how to play them properly now!

as I couldn't make it to QEH, I was glad warsaw/shadowplay were played at the last 2 gigs for selfish reasons. It wouldn't be cool for them to include them in every setlist from now on though. I'd rather they played some different Order tracks, but I realise the amount of effort to do re-programming and rehearsing means this is likely to happen in small stages, rather than a complete setlist change overnight. It'll always be nice to hear Turn from now on though.
I think Age of Consent will finally make an appearance when they 'tour' next. That keyboard part won't be too difficult for Phil.
Too lazy to look at the gig history right now, but when was the last time they played Face Up? Those two paired with Run would greatly enhance the set list. I've a feeling Dreams Never End won't ever be revived.
Face Up was still around at the start of the 89 US tour, but hasn't been seen since then. Never was quite the same when they'd recorded it, the early live versions that lasted forever and were full of improvisation were much more appealing than the Low Life version!
More JD would be a mistake. I reckon they should put those songs on the back burner again and focus on the band they are and not what they once were. I love a bit of JD nostalgia and it was right to revisit those songs for a while but they're fast starting to grate a bit. Atmosphere, LWTUA and She's Lost Control are slavishly trundled out at every single gig and mostly the spark has gone out of the way New Order play them. They do their best but Barney is a different vocalist to Ian and the songs don't sound quite right with him whooping and yelping all over them 
I'd like to see Age Of Consent returned to the set as well as Sunrise. There were rumours before the Manc gig we were going to get Sunrise but it turned out to be bollocks 
Also, they should lift something from Technique, maybe Run. They've ignored that album live for too long now 
I dunno why they don't take a risk and play a new tune or two as well, being scared of a grainy bootlegged 128kbps MP3 showing up on the net is not a decent enough excuse not to IMO! We'll all buy the album/single!
Some may be surprised by me saying this now in light of previous comments, but I'm happy to have LWTUA, Transmission, Atmosphere and even She's Lost Control in the set now. They've relearned how to play them and the latter two are almost right now. Transmission has always been great the way they do it these days, and LWTUA has to be considered a staple now, can't imagine them not doing it.
I'd like to hear some old NO stuff of course, but would also like to hear some of the WFTSC stuff they haven't done yet, like Who's Joe (and a return for HNWYD). They have recently started bringing in a song from the previous album/era though (Guilty Partner 98, Brutal on the 2002 dates, Run Wild this year) so maybe next year we'll get one they hadn't bothered to learn from WFTSC.
Actually, I'd like to see Transmission stay. It's probably my favourite JD number in the current setlist. LWTUA is fleetingly brilliant; at some gigs it really works whereas at others Barney's overenthusiasm (and screams of COME ON!) makes him sound like a music teacher. LWTUA is probably Steve's finest performance on drums though, those fills are always dead on and lightning quick.
They should reduce the JD part of the set down to just two numbers so it would free up the setlist enough to do other NO stuff like Sunrise, Guilty Partner, Run etc.
I definitely think Atmosphere should be retired for at least a whole tour, no question. Maybe played once on the final date.
I'd probably only leave LWTUA and SLC, purely cos they are the ones Bernard's voice doesn't make my blood run cold on. Nice to hear Warsaw and shadowplay, now they can put them into the rotation (remember that boys, when youi played different songs ocaasionally) to pop up once in a while. Warsaw was a big thing for me. I always loved the tuned and I remember saying like 15 years ago "fuck I'll never hear that live NO would never attempt it", so having them play it at my first real live in the flesh gig was a bit special. However if we're talking special, I can't describe the feelings that washed through me when Barney played TPK over the end of BM in Manc, it was like he did it just for me, and I don;t mind saying there WERE tears. :) Gained a minor dislike for Richard Lyons tho....if he'd been on the ball, he could have swiped out the moog source and the voyetra, stuck the HD recorder into loop (not so easy to do on the fly with tape that :) )and let the boys jam out on tpk for a while. Ah well.
Most of all the things I want back in the set are Gillian and her perfoming machines (phil can stay, he's ok by me, and we'll find Lyons another job, he's been good to us), I YEARN to hear a live Voyetra cut through the whole mix like fucking pulse laser cannon, I've always imagined from bootlegs that those little percussive noises on TPK, BM and Face Up (among others), would actually make you flinch-blink.
I'm a touch bored listening to rock bands whimpering about New Order, I think the following set MIGHT just remind people they aren't JUST a guitar band.

No vocals, guitar, bass, real drums, not even a melody on one and minimal melody on the other! The band could literally leave the stage (their Blue Monday/Encore dream realised then!) they're surely just drum machine test tracks. Video 586 dragging on for 22 minutes would cause a nasty riot, it's not even danceable!

yeh there are many songs such as run where they wouldn't even have to program the sequencers, well not that much, that could reasonably easily make a return to the setlist.

"As you said" is only what, 2:30? Video586 doesn't have to EXACTLY like the record, the don't have to do quite so much of the triplet-over-straight stuff that would put people off dancing. Hooky can make some contribution I'm sure, and the rest of em would be all hands to the keyboards. They could even segway a bit of 586 proper in. Not danceable? I strongly suspect I'd actually detonate I'd dance so hard. Anyway, get the fook of my cloud man :)

Most people's favourite album (pipe down LowLife enthusiasts) and their most commercially succesful (stats fans insert correction here). An outstanding piece of work which has been completely ignored since 1998. How many gigs is that? Dozens I'm sure.
What I'd give for Round & Round or Vanishing Point.
