What king was it they called "the wisest fool in the Christendom" ? Well Bernard (jesus I'm being generous today and calling him by the name that he doesn't hate), is "the daftest genius in the western hemisphere" (unless he's in Japan obviously)

I do love him really. And he IS a lyrical and musical genius. But he's a fucking plonker. :) Although I adores it when he sings shite like that on purpose.

EDIT: for what's worth the title "daftest genius" was originally applied to ME. can't remember exactly what for but it probably involved making a mad noise with something stupid.

It's meant in the kindest possible way. I give old Barnster some serious abuse, but I love the man as much as any of you. It does bother me a bit when he mkes mistakes, but he can fuck songs up on purpose til the cows come home and he'll only make me laugh.

Hooky tends to have the odd dodgy gig, especially back in the day, but he does usualy get everything right most nights. Gillian was too busy working out what her silicon pets were gonna get wrong next to make any mistakes of her own. Phil's a musician And Steve's a drum-machine

Good Lord man, do you think I could love new Order as I do and not adore bernard's lyrics and his almighty and sublime wit. I used to love him forgetting the words and invariably making up better ones on the spot. The autocue is the enemy in my book. But if we have to suffer it, and lose out on all that comedy, then at least he could make the effort not to accidentally screw up. TBH, at a lot of gigs Bernard seems really unhappy with his gernal situation. He's forever fucking around with those useless in-ear Lt uhuru monitors, and I;m becoming increasingly convinced that,like a bee, there is a very particular dance that says "I'm not happy, i can't hear dick". Such things are no doubt a real distraction. Barney is great, but he has a recessive plonker gene in him somewhere and it jusy wont be silenced.

It's matey abuse, mere banter. I don't think he's ever done anything that made me think "fuck's sake guys get a singer".
