You should do a cover called 'Bollocks Fookin Sunday' And do it really shit to give him a taste of his own medicine.

I think I could do that... if I tried really really hard, but yes, it's a possibility. D'ya know why? it's a Sh** song!
Barney Army I agree with you.
He basically too Bob's " I don't like Monday's" a step further, not oiginal at all ![]()
Complete opposite indicator ole' Bongo is...if he endorses NO and JD and starts singing their songs, run like hell...our boys are goners..
...our boys mights as well start singing PIL songs...."Careering" would be a good start..
I just don't get you people.
The biggest (not saying the best) rock act on Earth, is covering a song live from your favorite artists and you still flame them? ![]()
You don't have to like them, but at least, consider they are doing something that will make the young fans intested into finding out about Joy Division.

After five years, are you really surprised about that?
Ah well, here goes...
Boneo is an over-inflated ponce. He launched his career by flouncing aroud in riding boots on Live Aid (and falling off the bloody stage) then spent the rest of his career grabbing hold of every popular-politic idea and pretending it's his own. He's just a coked-up version of "Sir" Bob Gandalf with a bit more cash and a better barber. He often works in something by a proper artist with what he perceives to be a culty following, usually when he's not getting enough attention for his own crappy cabaret junk. Hence the rediculous attempt to mince off with the limelight on the Neworderstory. He did the same with Lou Reed a while ago and nobody was very impressed with that either.
And that Edge is just a fancy guitar set-up with a pony tail.
Mullen's alright, mind.
Agreed, Mullen's the only one I wouldn't twat with a crowbar :moon:
EDIT: just thought - anyone remember 'Christ The Album'? Catalogue number: BOLLOX2U2

I feel a poll coming on!
Talking of arseholes.........BIG send me your ADDY cos i have a little something for YOU.(thread hijack ALERT).BTW who is BONIO cos my dog just ate him?![]()
Musically, I like U2 but I get so tired of Bono's political agenda. It is great that he is paying "tribute" to NO/JD but somehow I think he does it because it makes him feel unique and "indy".

I had to laugh when Bongo met Bush. A meeting of minds indeed - I wonder which PR persons dreamed that one up. "Hey Bono, why don't you go meet the leader of the free world, guaranteed headlines before the next world tour". And one of Bush's aides "Sir, we'd like you to meet a rock singer who wants to solve the world's problems before lunch time. It'll be good for your demographics."
Bollocks.

EDIT: I quite like Depeche Mode and The Cure Nic, but Coldplay? U2? I wouldn't broadcast that too much if I were you - being the webmaster of the best site on the net and all that... ![]()

I'm with you, Spotto...
I think these guys here are just bunch of sNObs or NOankers! I bet many are closet boNO fans, quietly wishing NO would tour as hard as U2....
Not a Bongo record, vinyl or otherwise on the shelf here...
Just an overmarketed Irish band that has pretensions of changing the world....its just fookin' rock n' roll...at least NO and JD ain't got those pretensions which is the reason why I have liked them since 1979 when FACTUS 1 (Unknown Pleasures) came out in the "States"
When I see Rock stars rubbing shoulders with the power elites in banking and political (Bush, Mandella, Soros, whatever), they have peaked like stale beer or bad meat...
Spotty you gotta get a life...

Dont you worry about his attitude BUT have you ever bothered to listen to some LIBERTINES stuffs? They are quite good, mind you.
Only vaguely relevant to this thread, but here goes.
Barney Quote from Snub TV about 1990:
"It's all pretty hypocritical and it's all a false ideology, U2 are supposed to Christians right?
The big Christian belief is that thou shalt not commit adultery. I don't mean these are the actual words God used, but, its something like thou shalt not become a false messiah, right, and that Bongo guy, right, is having a good stab at it, isn't he?"
Well if you like stadium rock fine, but i dislike rock hard plastic seats and warm beer in plastic glasses and the coporate machine. Give me a real gig anyday such as Woolwich Coronet 87 !

That was from an extended TOTP interview and Steve's comment was priceless:
Interviewer: Bernard, could you see yourself doing the stadium gigs like Bono?
Steve: Nah, Barney would just trip over the flag...

Seriously though, who is worse? That sanctimonious poser Bono or that self-effacing gimp Chris Martin? I mean Coldplay have to be the dullest band on earth at the moment. Even U2 had their moments - despite most of them being some 20 years ago.

Nothing to disagree with there.
The NME called Martin 'slappable', which I thought was lovely.

I've always liked the Cure, can tolerate DM quite happily, and actually don't mind U2 (though I feel strangely guilty about it). Can't stand Coldplay however.
Don't see why everyone hates Bono so much. Yes he's pompous bordering on ridiculous, and a bit of an egomaniac, but he's not actually repulsive, the way, say, 'Sir' Mick Jagger is, or indescribably annoying the way Pete Doherty is.

No kidding eh. U2 is awesome and i dont care who knows i think so. Theyre no new order, but theyre still good. Nobody can deny that theyre good like come on. Seriously.
Nope....I quite like them too but I couldnt see myself posting on their websites, thats the difference. Besides how can you take anyone who got stuck inside a giant lemon seriously..?!
