Updating the site..

Hello everyone,

Hope you didn't miss me too much? I was kind of busy, but I seriously hope it's now over since I finally finished the project I was working on last friday, so technically, this should mean some more free time...

Well, maybe not that much because I'm preparing to move in a house quite soon, so I'll do my best :D

So I've started today an upgrade to the site, which will not be easy to notice, but the main goal is to optimize the speed and toughness of the site.

This means, I'm updating the core of the site, which is totally invisible to you, but there is a large set of DLL and executables running this site in the background, and I'm currently updating the ASP code and optimizing everything.

So this means, you might actually see some errors once in a while, just let me know if you find something.

The first thing I did today (beside finishing to add the new smilies I started a month ago) is updating the main page of the site, so technicaly, this page should be now a LOT faster. Let me know here if you find it faster, slower, whatever..

I should next try to optimize the forums, which will ease the job of doing a search engine most of you asked in previous posts. Of course, no data will be lost, there will only be small down times once in a while, not long, but to let me upgrade the system.

So this means, the core of NewOrderOnline should be totally updated by the beginning of the summer (I hope so), this might be totally invisible, but it's quite important to improve the performance of this site.

By then, I should be able to have a new download system for mp3s which will be based on your member profile, so in order to be able to download mp3s off this site, you will have to proove you are worthy of it :D Maybe not that much, but what I want is to avoid people from registering 10 times only to download the mp3s. And note it will be impossible to copy the links, so you will really be only able to get it if you are logged in here... and have the rights to do so. (Nice e-Commerce software download module I did, it works quite well, so if you bust it, you actually help me doing my job, so I should watch :))

Now, the other things, well, I'm still looking for help for filling the content, and doing design work on the site, but from experience in the past, people offer their help and don't lift a finger afterwards, so if you really want to help, think about it before mailing me.. I actually need some help filling the discography, writing biographies, correcting errors in lyrics, finding missing lyrics, and stuff like that...
