OZZY OSBOURNE has hit out at the other music greats inducted into Britain's Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame last month (NOV05) - for turning the event into an ego-fest.

Osbourne's BLACK SABBATH joined THE WHO, PINK FLOYD, NEW ORDER, JIMI HENDRIX, JOY DIVISION, THE KINKS and ARETHA FRANKLIN as the first acts honoured.

But the rocker was disappointed by the atmosphere at the London bash.

He tells The Sun Online, "I've been saying Britain should have a Hall Of Fame for years.

"But when I got to the ceremony it was ego night out.

"I was performing in front an audience full of bands I've looked up to all my life - like The Kinks, Eurhythmics and Pink Floyd - and I'd seen more action at an Irish wake.

"These guys are so cool, they are the people who started rock 'n' roll, but they were sitting there with heads bigger than Selfridges.

"I felt like screaming: 'Do you know how lucky we are? We don't have to get up in the morning, sit in traffic and go to a job we hate for a person we hate then come home, eat and maybe get a shag off the wife - and do the same thing every day for five days a week.'"

Eh? From what little I saw of it (just kept my eyes open for NO) it looked like a polite sit 'n' applaud sort of affair. Kind of sterile but that's what these things are like. Was Pete Townshend doing the crossword throughout the show or something?

Yep, it was depressingly sterile, but the NOOL crowd acted as communal bacteria to liven things up. A little.

What was he doing at this event anyway? Surely they could have found more worthy inductees. He is more light entertainment than serious rock music. I am surprised that they hav'ent considered the Rolling Stones, Bowie, Bee Gees etc.

It somewhat diminished the idea of JD/NO being included fairly early on.

It also needs a centre somewhere like in Cleveland OH. How about Mancland? Urbis is virtually a rock museum anyway.

Yes, they did. We fought the law, and the law edited us out. They also closed the bars far too fucking early as well.

Too early for you lot maybe, but not the Sludden's :D We ran out of beer 5 minutes after the show started and decided to head back down to it while the Eurythmics were on, couldnae have timed it better either cos 2 minutes after placing our order they shut the fucker! Maybe they were a bit scared of eedjits like us shouting out, didnae work though did it :lol:

I understand where Ozzy's coming from, and "sources close to the band" (©British Media Groups) have said they didn't really enjoy it either, but were happy us lot were there giving it laldy

I was about to mention that. They never should have had the industry people seated in the front. To quote Madonna,"It was so distracting and so depressing to me...to have two rows of people looking like they weren't there to have fun."
