I find masel in total agreemenet with Dave fer once.
I'd love to see more reworkings a la 98
Moby's take of NDF is the dogs bollocks, but I'd much rather hear Neworder do Joy Division than anyone else.
:(
But NO are JD!!!!
I find it totally bizarre. This is almost Spinal Tap-esque.
I can imagine the following conversation:
A: JD are reforming, fookin brilliant!!!!
B: Hang on, Ian Curtis is dead, who's going to do lead vocals?
A: Maybe one of the remaining band members. What about him who plays lead guitar?
B: Oh yeah the Sumner guy. But haven't they already done that?
A: Oh yeah that's right, but they call themselves New Order these days. This is Joy Division. They're performing as Joy Division!
B: Oh yeah, I can imagine the billboards. Fookin brilliant, I've waited 25 years for this day.
A: Yeah fookin amazing, reforming after all this time... etc, etc, forever...
Come on guys let's get some perspective on this. NO are JD without Ian. Ian aint coming back so NO are the nearest you'll ever get to JD. What's in a name? It's still the same band!
