why do I always attract female partners in crime. it's scarey. Yet i couldn't pull a pint at a lock-in.

I always wind up with male partners in crime, because most chicks won't be caught dead speaking their right mind. Suppose that's why I like the girls around here, they remind me of me enough to feel comfortable.
:)
Odd aint it. Not as odd as the fact that I've cracked the 150 post mark in a single 24 hours period I think I should declare and retire.
Is that a new record then? I think I vaguely remember 106 from a bit ago. I'm shocked I've had so much to quip about. Watch me go silent tomorrow.
And to think I'd not posted since I first got this account several years ago. I've made up for lost time, surely.![]()

Seems to be back to 146....oh dear....look who's second.
MUUUSSSSSST SLEEEEEEP
I blame Jem and Sam,Bonzette(who it turns out is madder than a march hare who was a woodstock) and (the relatively dormant just now) Maya....they're all too friendly and too entertaining....and GNU's right, there's 24hr cool chick coverage here now, each time I sleep I'll be pissed off that I'm missing out.
Sleep, good man, sleep!
I'll never forgive myself if you wind up falling into a coma a few days from now, spent from staying up too long and babbling incoherently about us all before you tank it.
:p

Bless him. I imagine that there's few of us the wrong side of 30 on this board who can't say that they received a letter or two at some point penned by Cap'n Hook (mine hit the doormat in early 1990).

Got a temporary job working nights (why else would I be up at this time!!??) for good 'ol Royal Mail until Xmas, making sure you all get your Christmas cards on time. It's shit!!
Wrote the boys and Factory on Palatine Road back in '83 even with an International reply coupon...nothing back..period..
Only way I knew anything new was coming out of Factory was my lurking around Northern Lights Records or OarFolkJokeOpus Records. No advertising. Way I found the other Facotry bands like Section 25, Crispy Ambulance, and ACR was the apparent gaps in the FAC catalog system and seeing this other strange stuff with FAC numbers on them.
Factory could never market to save its life.:\ohwell: :\ohwell:

I REALLY wanna compete, but i'm too stunned, I'll have to think about it.
EDIT: I've thought about it, and I wont even try to steal your glory, as if i could :D
But I must ask Jem if it's OK to post "booze vigilantes" here (feels right to ask I did write it for her....it's not a love song, note the title, calm down)
Go on Stevie, i'm a caring sharing person, i will allow you to use it on the site...
PS: How many times do you change your avatar, think youv'e got an identity crisis man
I'm trying to find an avatar that gets rid of all these pesky hotties and leaves me with just one (you of course).
I think that's actually the worst picture in existence of me :)
Ladies and gents...some NO lyrics rewritten by me, for a "special chick" (or was it "special needs chick" I can't remember)
Booze vigilantes
for jem
Oh i've just come from that sodding forum
From a thread that we have nicked with the greatest skill
We are so getting banned, our accounts getting canned
And we'll be lucky if they don't call our isp's
chorus
..
Let's drink some booze and get on some tunes
My Missy jem let's shatter the blues
we've got to hang out, drink dance and shout
Cos you're just the coolest loon
..
well you just can't believe the joy I do receive
each time I click refresh and see the posts you leave
My gob it just can't lie, it breaks into a smile
And I know I'll be just fine for another while
repeat Chorus
Jem you mental bitch I think it's time we ditched
all pretense that you've not charmed me up a fookin treat
though you're only “mostly single”, my nerves you do so tingle
And I do so wish that Bolton was not so far
Chorus to fade with increasingly loud bass and cries of “Jemma you're foooooookin great”
I received a reply from John Peel when I wrote to him in late April 1980. I'd asked if there was any chance of another Joy Division session. The great man, in his vertical, rigid writing replied, 'Not much chance I'm afraid, Ian Curtis died yesterday'. I received the reply on 21st May 1980... :(
As for fan mail - I've always thought it would be a bit sad to send it. I thought about it. But no. Just couldn't put myself through the embarrassment of writing, waiting for the postman and receiveing nothing. Sort of wish I had now...
Ah! Those lyrics! ![]()
Many thanks Jem and Steve for sharing them. I'm getting my mid-day off to a good start, already. ![]()
I just wanted to say at this point, and there may be one or two who'd like to agree.
Peter Hook is a VERY nice man, and his son is a credit to him.
if anyone needs me I'll be on a plane to....wherever there's a plane to really soon.

As for New Order, until they post photos of their pets in the Cats thread, they can all fuck off.

Agreed! Never met a person since who was so nice to a fan, and didn't have some gonzo ego sitting on his shoulder. ![]()
St Peter gaurds those gates, you've got no chance of getting in heaven.....And don't nick the gates when his backs turned..

Yeah, I hear he's famous for something... in a pop group? ![]()
I wrote to 'em back in 81 when i was 11, in my neatest joined up handwriting: enquiring about 'a fan club'. Got the same bit of paper back with "there aint one- P Hook" scrawled in pencil.
Nice to hear that NO dodged that hokey tie-and-cardigan official band fanclub, YMCA boys brigade-whatnot business where everyone looked like an extra from a Jam video. (Edit: Though NOOL as a fanclub is great, true punk rock DIY!)
What I wouldn't have given to be on the Factory mailing list though
.
I wrote to Factory in the late 80s enquiring about New Order info. I got a friendly, handwritten response from Tony Wilson.

Wothy of a new thread, surely?
Yet strangely not as inane as usual...
