Drum Track Request

Hi everyone :) This is my first post so be gentle...

I'm looking for a drum track of Love Will Tear Us Apart for a demo I want to record. I can play all the bass / guitar and keyboards and am blessed with a voice similar to IC.

Unfortunately I can't play drums to save my life

If anyone has one, or knows where I can get one please let me know.

A bunch of us on here can help you out, I'm sure. Too many of us, likely.

A few clarifying questions:

1. Do you need the drums first, or laid beneath prerecorded guitar and/or bass?
2. At the tempo from the record?
3. Real, realistic, or electronic?
4. What format?

Hi Gnu,

1. Drums first. Have an 8 track studio that I've just built at home and want this to be my first project/demo.
2. Yes.
3. Anything that sounds like the original.
4. WAV or MP3 is fine because I'm sure I can DI them into the recording desk.

I went to see The Buzzcocks at Sheffield Top Rank and Joy Division were supporting. Didn't know who they were at that time. I remember them playing She Lost Control and Transmission (With IC doing his unique dance during the latter). I was at the front so had a great view.

I made the assumption that there would be loads of people on here that also saw them. Hope it didn't sound like bragging

Apparently their "doing" up our town soon, this probably means we'l be having xmas lights all year round!

I'm man enough to admit it. Plus, I had free tickets and the opening act was Cheap Trick.

Have probably got the drum track hanging around somewhere - will take a look. It was one of the ones I worked on a few months back.

I grew up in Hoyland Common. Hated it Left at the age of 19 (ie: as soon as I could) and have never been back. Live in Bucks now.:D

I've just received a midi file over email. Is that from you?

Had a look (and listen)at www.digital-jdno.co.uk and am very impressed. Will have to go into London when they play next.

No, not me. That was the mysterious masked MIDI mailer.

Can you use that, or do you need an audio file?

I've discovered that I can separate the drum channels out by using my daughters Sony - Acid Express programme. I plan to DI it from my PC'c audio out into the recording desk.

Unless you know a better way of course? I'm on a serious learning curve so am grateful for any input or advice.

A good friend (professional musician) has just given me his old 8 track digital desk, so this will be my first proper recording.

The paint has just dried on my home studio so I'm ready to go

I do believe Fish is still based at Haddington. Don't really know him though. He left the band in 88 and went solo with some limited success. I've met and spoke to him a couple of times over the years.

Marillion themselves carried on here in Aylesbury (Where they were always based) and creatively speaking have gone from strength to strength. Have a look at
