I'm off to see Jarvis Cocker and the Desperate Sound System DJ tomorrow (Fri) night at The Watershed in Perth.. Sparkling outdoors venue, balmy hot night, intelligent crowd, cool tunes, grrls wearing precious little, beer flowing freely, it's gonna be sweet.

I f-ing love the '95 album (Different Class, right? Think that's the title). I love how Cocker basically got arrested after the Jacko incident saying apparently he was charged with "being rude to a famous American". Fantastic stuff, really (and their music's not too shabby either!)

Yeah, Liv.....I love that Ali G segment...and Jarvis looked comfortable with those beatbox sounds through his song... yeah, don't forget the dancers too....

Anyway, Chris Z...Jarvis's dad is somewhere in Australia.. I think Queensland...apparently he left Jarvis many yonks ago....

Also a New Order connection... Pulp's Hardcore CD's photos were all taken in Peter Saville's place....gee, imagine all those chicks in his place...makes Peter looking like a pimp...

Sorted for E's & Whizz was class;) I liked the Different Class album :nod: But fuck-all after that.

1980 Lennon shot dead, Celtic beat Rangers 1-0 in The Scottish Cup Final (after extra time) leading to police on horseback invading the pitch, cos the Huns didn't want Celtic to do a lap of honour (leading to ugly scenes (and most of them in blue :lol: )) after this game - alcohol was barred from every ground in Scotland.

the album before different class is also a classic - his n hers & often overlooked.

there are some quality songs on that, babies, do you remember the first time etc.

The new album is brilliant. I love every track on it, which doesn't happen often.

This is hardcore is also a vastly underrated album.

ive hated them since an ex of mine told me i looked like Jarvis(this was a long time ago) I hate Jarvis he is a cunt but i did like the Wacko Jacko thing a couple of years ago

BTW the gig was a cracker, with Mr Cocker moving the masses with an electic crate that included Iggy Pop, Daft Punk, Nirvana, Happy Mondays, KLF, Hall & Oates, Stone Roses, Mary J Blige, Destiny's Child, Michael Jackson, The Clash and erm.. the theme from Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.

Something for everyone I guess.

I was in a band that supported Pulp at the Hull Adelphi club in 1986! My band were terrible - Pulp were superb. I've loved them since then. The first LP I bought was "Freaks", missed out on "If" at the time. Loved everything since, good Northern fare - better than all that southern soft shite.

I *LOVE* Pulp - and I certainly wouldn't be adverse to snuggling up with Mr Cocker... :)

'We Love Life' isn't as immediate as most earlier stuff, and while not jam-packed with 'singles' is a fantastic record. Not as good as 'His'n'Hers', but that was a masterpiece...

Quite like Pulp, but all the Jarvis-this and Jarvis-that is irrelevant - as long as the musics good, which it (mostly) is CTD :cool:
