Hello,

Welcome. Thanks for your poem. Just get stuck in with us lot. We get carried away, especially young Steve. Think Steve is holding onto a Barney's Angels badge for you!

Merry Christmas!

Hey there NO person - a few weeks ago I asked if you had listened to ACR interview on Cherry Blossom clinic FM - you didn't reply - did you go and listen to the interviews/tracks?

Normal, are you asking this question to one NO person in particular, or can we all answer? :D

Hello, normal! :)

I like that clever poem.

Hello melly, where ya been chick? Picking more flowers for your eyes?

Hi Jem!

I've been lurking in at odd hours due to pre-Christmas busy nonsense. Puts a real damper on getting a chance to chat with you lot before everyone trucks to bed.

But I should be back to top form soon enough, I mean, relatives can only stay so long, right? :evil4:

EDIT: Well odder than usual.

They'll soon scarper if you frighten them!!

Sorry it was directed to Steve - hey but anyone can answer if they want to

Oh.......shit....I've been rude. I must apologize. And the answer is "no" I'm afraid.

Bloody kicked as at apollo14 tho.

I wonder why I failed to answer, I'm not normal errrr stuck for a few words....or so bloody rude.

EDIT: I probably meant to go listen and get back to you....but that can take decades the way my head is these days :D

Jemma, if melly behaves any odder she'll be posting from a padded cell. However, it's a fucking awesome technique to get rid of the unwanted......I'm surprised anyone posts here now I come to think of it.

Well Steve your forgiven - but do go and listen to them Dec 04 & I think it was April 2002 - you can soon find them in the archives. By they way if you still can't sleep 25mg phenergan always works for me. You can buy them over the counter at a pharmacist.

You go girl, and if they've not gone by tomorrow, threaten them by telling them i'm visiting. That WILL work.

I like your poem, normal. I wish I had thought to write something like that; unfortunately I’m not very poetic.

So, what does a girl have to do around here to get one of these BA badges?

When they are in hand, and official open announcement will be made. The basic criteron is that you're willing to do something QUITE unprintable to one Mr Sumner. And being a mental case is a big advantage as well.

I remember that stuff from when I was a kid, in liquid form....worth a try. Must say tho...red wine worked very well last night :D

I'll be incorporating the badge into my everyday wear - and of course have a ready speech on the chance someone actually asks about it.

I've already had my speech for my NO tees, and on occaision I even bother to hand out my car mix cds as "get yer foot in the door on this music", too.

Which reminds me of a semi-related story:

When I worked at a music shop a few years back, I had a customer who came in asking just for the pump panel version of Confusion. And I was happy to oblige, but then I pushed "Mebbe you'd also like 'Substance', it's a greatest of, and mebbe you'd especially like the 2nd disc"

He came back and returned it the next day saying "That's not the same band, it's crap!" and I turned around, handed him 'Technique' and said "Mebbe this is more your style, then" - and he came back the next day and thanked me doubly for it.

 I never give up. I don't need any money, just keep making albums for me to pimp out to people who are unawares.

Nice one Melly!

I go out and buy everyone, family, friends, collegues, NO related stuff- even though most of my friends and family don't know who they are or don't like them! Still, as you said, never, ever give up on the cause!

People used to give me a blank look, but they've come to realise that, really what i'm giving them is a unique present. They give me a knowing smile these days:)

Yeah, people give me a knowing smile, too. It's the "knowing that she's bonkers and it's best not to make sudden moves or look her straight in the eye" kind of smile.

 I have a lot to learn in the ways of pimping, Steve. Oh but take me under your wing so that I might learn. :evil4:

I'm actually hoping they'll (Warner's, the band, whomever bothers) put out a more definitive catchall at a reasonable price later on that'll be equally as impressive as Substance was for me when it came out. I've no shame in passing out cds if it brings more nuts into the foray. :evil4:

And if they don't, I suppose my homebrew cds will have to suffice. I've got to start including interviews and concert quips on those things. The music is one thing but the comedy is quality, too.

Not many other bands I listen to have such a well developed sense of childish humor. :D

Gillian's fashion

2 words you don't see together often without phrases like (utter disregard of) being invloved.

More power to the girl, her 80's pics are a lot less embarrassing than many :)

it's the "two guys with mics" thing that causes it...any band with two so arm persons is doomed :) funky band I played in once had a fanbase consisting of girls who came to letch at the singer and blokes who came to laugh at me and him between songs. All I need to say is that he is MORE MENTAL than me, and instantly makes sane people he talks to go mental....he has half a government department here singing about "nosebeast", our mythical worm leader...singing a song I might add written by 3 wastrils at 7am! and sung in falsetto voices

I'm pretty fond of those sweaters she'd wear. Definitely took a cue there for my Sweater Rage 95' spree.

I keep thinking if she'd been really hip to 80's fashion, she'd be taking a lot more abuse from us for it. She managed to look like she'd just been called to the studio or a shoot or a concert while she was just futzing about being herself at home. No muss, no fuss.

The eyeshadow is what I best love, really. I think she always had pretty striking (in a good way) makeup for the time period, when everyone else I knew was going for this nasty frosted look.

re: nosebeast - I'm coughing up coffee just by the nature of the word. Are there any surviving recordings of this? :abovelol:

It's like one of those words from Dune...it can do damage.

OK...anyone downloading this.....it's at your OWN risk, if you end up thinking I'm a fucking retard, or you're reduced to a gibbering mess....you have no comeback ok?

this is the ONLY surviving recording, it's taken from a mangled tape recorded on a fucked tape deck that was on a speaker. The source is me "performing" the track to about 150 wasted people in a club in Belfast, using the eq and pitch control on the 4 track, some effects, and an entire skin full of alcohol. I played it as a joke, but like every time I do that, people fucking loved it, they were creaming and yelling and dancing their hole's off....and all I could think was "that's me and brad and anto...wankered at 7 am after playing worms for 12 hours. singing a song about one of our team captains, and they are dancing" in a loop without ever reaching any conclusions.

NoseBeast

worth stickin around to the end it does just get sillier and sillier.

Is that like with a joke where "you had to be there to get it"? Like I said, it's a random joke track involving my singing in a VERY silly voice...the only truly remarkable thing was Rich elbowing me and pointing into the crowd....and I'm like "WTF are they dancing for"...every time I try to have a laugh at an audience's expense they love it (payback for years of liking NO maybe)

we tell all the religious recruiters about nosebeast....we've hi so many mormons the poor sods must be back at the tabernacle wondering WTF is going on in this town.

You must learn this speech and use it ONLY on religious conversion units.... When stopped and questions, launch into.... Nosebeast #2 was when my new kitten Bogart scampered off from me and I chased him around calling him "a little nosebeast". I think the word is a lot like the hiccups - strange enough to be used without thinking in a variety of situations.
