The scumbag eBay seller 'o_puerta' is creaming alot of money off these at the moment, almost as much as if they were genuine. They should be avoided as they're very dodgy. No genuine promos were ever released with that artwork or tracklistings. Whoever made them simply ripped off the Krafty promo artwork so people would be easily tricked.

If you were having trouble finding those mixes on CD and these "Bootleg promos" were on Buy It Now! for a fiver it would probably be OK, but the amount of cash this fucker is making off these is scandalous. He's making £70 per CD at the moment :nonono:

I reported him to eBay UK a couple of days ago and his first set of listings were removed. The second time he relisted them (a few hours later) without the word "bootleg" in the listings and despite me telling eBay again, they haven't been shifted :thumbdown: Someone's going to lose over £70 to this tosser for a bootleg, what a mug! Mind you a U2 fan's winning at the moment so :laugh:

Here in my country there's a seller on "Mercado Livre" (eBay from Brazil) that's offering the same "promo bootleg" and it costs US$ 14,89. But this guy admits that is a bootleg "from New York".

these do appear to be boots, but if they're professionally pressed on silver cds (and not on cheap cd-rs) and not from mp3 sources, then they'd be a decent buy at a reasonable price for those having trouble finding these different mixes.

Unfortunately $137.50 or £80 if you're in the UK is far from a decent buy and this moron is making a serious amount of cash off these bootlegs, even if they are silver pressed.

My problem with this seller is not so much him offering bootleg New Order CDs, but he has not confessed in the listing (anywhere) they're boots and certainly isn't offering them for a cheap Buy It Now! price. If the seller had done the above and was offering them for £5 a pop I wouldn't have bothered reporting him.

But the amount of money he's blatantly trying to make off these is just scummy.

Fantastic! eBay pulled all his auctions before they could finish and 'o_puerta' is "no longer a registered user". I assume because he was caught selling boots once too often.

As I said, I've got nothing against reasonably priced bootlegs like say, Excerpts from 'Recycle' @ $15 which was a very nice item, but making over 80 quid per bootleg isn't really on is it? Not only stealing from the band but gives any fans bidding a crap deal. The guy could've saved his account being deleted if he'd offered them all at a fixed price of $10 but I guess he thought there wasn't much profit to be made there.

:nono: A friend of mine bought these bootlegs here in Brazil... He told me few minutes ago both titles aren't silver CDs, but they are printed. The sleeve is a home production, but the bootlegs sounds very well, probably copied from originals promo editions. I would buy this kind of CD only if it was sold very cheaply.

there seem to be a few on eBay who pay an exorbitant amount for a rare promo and then make 100 times their money by selling cheap copies. i'm all for the free market system, but these types of sellers are ripping people off w/ the vaguery of their descriptions.

kudos Alli for getting his stuff yanked from eBay (and saving a few people from making a mistake).

I ALWAYS shop bastard sellers like these. Personally i spend a lot of money on genuine promos so i have NO hesitation in reporting these sellers to ebay, so there!:p
