I've broswed this site a few times and you lot seem to be total New Order afficionados who know EVERYTHING is there to know about the band. So can you help me with this question? Who is the bald guy who DJs for New Order? I know Arthur Baker does a bit with them, but I went to the Manchester Apollo gig and that bald guy was warming up for them on stage - he also did the aftershow party upstairs. At the last Apollo gig a few years ago, that same bald guy played the aftershow then, too. Who is he?

Well thanks guys. That's really helpful. It's all about as clear as a muddy lake. After some further enquiries on the name Tintin, there is a DJ in Manchester of that name, who used to play at The Hac and the Boardwalk, or so I'm told. Still can't be sure though

And I do have a resonably valid reason for trying to find out who he is. It involves sex. But not with me.

From this website:

I was in a bar in Manchester the other night and Tintin, who is the bass player in Rowett's band, was DJing. I asked him to put a track on. He put it on and I thought "Actually this probably one of my cracking tunes" because I always asked for it if I was in a club, if I knew the DJ. That tune is White Lines by Grandmaster Melle Mel. Just because it's such a rocking tune, that and Rapper's Delight which is by the Sugar Real Gang. White Lines, is such a funky song, it gets me every time. Get me on my feet if I'm asleep. So probably those two for happy dancey hip hoppy dancey stuff.

I couldn't even give the place I first heard them. I remember them from years ago, different places,I mean they're classics, they're old.

So, you might have better luck by asking on Rowetta's board

Erm at the risk of going pedantically "off message", Rappers Delight was by Sugar HILL Gang. Altho I guess if one had a TV-hispanic or comedy French accent it might sound like "Sugar'eel Gang".

And isn't it Grandmaster FLASH?

Yup, you're right Nic, but in the case of dear old Arthur Baker, 'Grandmaster Flesh' may have been more appropriate...

It were Grandmaster Flash AND Melle Mel.Love it! That and Blondie's RAPTURE are the only rap records I know the words to and quite frankly the only two I want to.
