I've been on a Sooner Than You Think bender lately. Trying to do a From Cock To Kiss with this song. Too many 1984 shows missing. But the debut, Aleph, in December of 1983 is an awesome mellow out tune. Nearly 8 minutes long, seemingly improvisational yet flows so nicely. They waited until April of 84 to air the song again this time in Zurich. Big emphasis on the drums or perhaps the taper positioned himself poorly. Still fantastic. Lyrics evolved closer to the Low-Life version. The taper mislabeled the song as the Meaning of Life, a dropped line from the Brixton debut repeated a few times but absent at Zurich.

Yeah, I need to lighten up, dark days of winter getting the best of me. Please don't spit on me.

Aleph--duh

this is in my top ten fav new order songs...its got this subtle emotional charge, the last two minutes of instrumentation are outstanding, good choice.
