Hey guys

Does anyone know anything about 'Sex and Death', a '96 (?) album the Hookster played on? Or 'Freispiel', which I think is a jam (that's what the name means anyway) featuring the Hookster too?

Thanks

Sex and Death is a Durutti Column album from 94. Hooky played bass on a track called Fado. He also toured with Vini and co for a few dates. Manchester/London in 94 and London in 95. I think possibly a date or two abroad aswell!

Yep, Hooky played three gigs in Portugal (Lisboa, Coimbra and Porto) in 1995.

"Freispiel" was a session in Cologne in 1993. It was filmed and there was a soundtrack. Hooky played two sessions. One together with Geordie and Jaz (Killing Joke) and two members of a german band called KOWALSKI, the other with two or three egyptian/indian musicians and again the KJ-guys. On "Freispiel" you can also hear other superb artists jamming around like Jaki Liebezeit(Can),Dieter Moebius (Cluster),Blaine L. Reininger (Tuxedoomoon),Andy Gill (Gang of 4),Billy Currie (Ultravox),Gudrun Gut (Malaria),Pyrolator etc.

Thanks guys!

Interesting to hear about the Hookster working with Killing Joke. That one was first mooted back in December 93 but in true New Order style took fucking ages to happen.

I am in love with Melanie C.

Oh yes he did, and I didn't had the chance to see him, although the house I lived in, then, was a mere 200 meters away from the venue where DC played in Oporto! I have to thank my first wife for that :banghead:

She always came last in "the order I'd shag the spice girls" pub-polls.
