In the video section there isa file named Turn which I am downloading now because I can't egt it to play. Can anyone get it to work? Is this actually the video or a dead link?

I couldn't get the video to play either. The link looks dead to me.

Quite an odd video.

This is by far the best NO video since Regret. I lve the 50s imagery that accompanies the lyrics, especially at the tail end when you have people looking at the nuclear testing and watches. Absolutely briliant!!! A+++

Pretty fucking awesome.

Finally saw it for myself by using quicktime. The fifties concept and how the actions were synchronized with the lyrics are very cool. An era that was a utopia suddenly destroyed by an impending evil that people failed to realize because of their complacency. An interesting analysis about the "Turn"'s lyrics.

What a great vid. A classic New Order tune needs a classic New Order video. And here you have it

If only MTV actually played some friggin music anymore.

I thought the guy on his knees was going to rip the orange bra off. At least that is what I wanted to see. Is this an official NO video?

Personally I prefer videos featuring the band, many people didn't enjoy the Jetstream video but I thought that was what a video should be.. promoting the band...

On the other hand, New Order never did like anybody else, and this just prooves they continue.. name another band that were featured in only ONE of their last 8 videos?

Bet this is just a website project though. Like the other crystal one. Its just too random and strage... but very cool. And way to covert. A tiny size 8 font link on an under construction website as the debut for a new video.\

Can't say I like the video much to be honest. Like most of Shamburg's work it is more than a little pretentious. Their best videos, in my opinion, were not done by him.

Except from Temptation, he never directed a video for them. He produced them. Plus I agree w/Ricardo, there is nothing original w/that video.

Actually, wife and I still follow Classic VH1 religiously. It's a separate channel from the usual VH1. Classic has two good programs call Alternative and Classic Current. Plus of course they had a interview with New Order a while back.

Well...there must be one other band. The US market prefers to see the band members in the video. This, we all know.

Interestingly enough, JetStream was shown at an American Eagle boutique store the other day and my eyes were glued to the mega flat screen on the wall. No one else was watching. And just the other day, I overheard a kid said that New Order is a new band influenced by The Killers. At that point, I was too lazy to explain anything.

I like the Turn video but probably not going to watch it twice. The whole 50s theme bugs me.

It's looks like a hack job but the editing is pure art.

I think the video is quite good. But does anyone else recognize any of the clips?

There is a clip toward the beginning of a woman laying under under a tree with a big hat, and the camera sort of zooms up on her. That was actually taken from a 70s commercial-- about venereal disease. The cameraman zooms up on her and asks her about VD. I had seen this when I rented an Educational Archives DVD from Netflix about Sex and Drugs...

Fun video. I'm not sure it's entirely successful, but it's a nice experiement. Reminds me of Galaxie 500 videos ("Tugboat" "Fourth of July" etc). The main problem is that he cuts away from Hayworth!

What can I say, it's just pretty rediculous. Any media student could mock up a video by putting clips of old 1950's films together lol. Sorry to insult the person who made it's work (the other videos of theirs are good), but this just isn't good enough for a band such as New Order. Come on, go watch it again, it's a complete joke to be honest with you.

Also, I know it's the music that counts and not the video but the song isn't going to be doing any good with general music listeners simply because the video isn't going to be catching anyones's attention at all.

Sorry but, it's just bad... Just my opinion, I'm sure you all have opinions of your own on the video too.

Infact, thinking about it again, it's like the organizers of the video have said,

"there's gotta be a new vid for this single then, ah ok then. Ah i know, cause were so lazy and cant be bothered to arrange a video for the song and because we dont genereally care, lets just go mock up a vid with clips from the past, great! we have our video"

The choppy feel is what mainly leads me to believe that it is simply a website effort - maybe to give us a bit of a thrill until the real polished probably completly different comes out. Its too different from everything else - and not very accessible.

I think its probably a weekend project when he was bored or something - may as well chop up some footage to music to fill in a few hours.

well, I was a bit letdown by the extra material on Collection, which was all by this Shambolls guy.

The one with the b/w girl (temptation), despite her being quite pretty, seemed like some personal gift to her... seemed like something an art student would do with his girlfriend in college. It was rather boring. At first, I thought she was beautiful, and this video could be something... and then, well, it got boring. I think 10 minutes of her dancing by herself was a bit indulgent...

I have nothing against the director/producer, but am a bit surprised, considering how much I love some of his official work. If these videos ARE personal fun (and that is why they were extras, and on this unofficial website) then 'cool' - everyone is entitled to their own art and hell, they are better videos than I could ever even imagine putting together! ...

but they do seem a notch below Factory level quality...

I think I like the video because of the era it was filmed in, and the girls looked great back then. But did anybody check out the crystal video on the site? Now that was a bad video. I'm talking about the one with the cat and dog. Just horrible.

Probably made for $10 with Quicktime Pro and old public domain clips. Matches the third video for Crystal featuring a playfighting cat and dog and the guy blinking the lights on and off really fast. If MTV had a sense of humor they would play them, and everybody would look cool as a result.

Actually I was wondering if all the clips were footage from Warner's library...that way they wouldn't have to pay for use?

I don't mind the video...better than many that they've had done but not one of their best...

That specific video is actually a reference to all the Nouvelle Vague films produced in the late 50's, early 60's in France. It reminds me of some of Agnes Varda, François Truffaut or even Jean-Luc Godard early work.

I agree, the first half of the Temptation video was great, especially when she nicked the 12inch vinyl version of Temptation, i loved that. I was hoping something interesting would happen when she got home and played the song on her record player, something vaguely interesting, like painting the album cover on the walls, instead of dancing around like an idiot.

3 and a half minutes of moving pictures accomponied by NO, just about sums it up, crap vid, great music.

I have now written about each video production, including >one major one that never happened (“Sands of Dee”).

May of missed it, but what does he mean by this?

Not entirely convinced this is an official effort though, more likely to appear on Warners site first off unless its been leaked but then whoever hosts it would be asking for trouble....

Had a second watch of it just now and enjoyed it a lot more than the first time.

As for the vids of Temptation and Ceremony on Collection - i watched them once and that was enough

I found it a bit small for a song song like Turn. The guy should have stuck with the girls, or the 50's or the rockets. Anyway... The Krafty one is still the best video of the album. The "new" Temptation vid. is pretty interesting, but the resolution is tooo small. Now I have to check at i-tunes for some No stuff. Cheers all...

its certainly doesnt look like an official video but i like it. it keeps you fixed on it till the end.

I really like it - a return to form for Shamberg and I can't wait to see it out on DVD. For me, it's in the same league as Run. Perhaps they'll reissue Collection with it on?

Or maybe it's already there, as a hidden track...

It's amazing. There are videos for songs that haven't been even promoted in the serious marketing way.

Really, what is the destiny of this video? Maybe one broadcast, even two - will it bring attention to the band or particularly to the single? Answer right now!

About as bad as the Temptation video. I'm sure the only people who will see this are member of this site. Let's hope this is not the official video.
