& the background is still yellow - means that it increased its airplay substantially again this week - nice one!
I just wonder how it will fare once Madonna's "Sorry" hits that charts with remixes by Oakey and the Pet Shop Boys. The Grammy's are less than a week away...
Another #1 will be welcomed, but still... this will never sell until they actually produce CDs!!
Although the #3 songs will probably hit #1 faster...
Nobody on here would be surprised to see New Order lose that one.
Although it's not the first time an academy would vote for a "career" instead of the actual song.
Don't get me wrong, I like Guilt, but it's not what New Order has done best in terms of "dance music"...
Really? Guilt is their best dance song all year and I think it's THE best dance song all year.
Really, I do. I buy many many dance 12"s and CD Singles throughout the year and it's right up there with al the progressive house and trance jams I've bought.

Sweet!I cannot believe the amount of skepticism on this site for a band we are love and admire. So what if they are nominated for a Grammy, so what if they win, so what if they lose... All this crap about releases not seeing a domestic or commercially viable release and being nominated for awards shouldn't matter. New order have done us all a big favour by coming out of the ashes of Joy Division. Period. If they get recognized for whatever reason by the industry it should be a welcomed event, not a scrutinized one. With all the emphasis on the producers who remixed Guilt, that is the reason why it is charting so well. The different mixes reach different floors, different formats beit house, prog, trance whatever... People have to ease up and realize how lucky we are to have New order still recording and releasing music...

i have just re-read the thread. chill man. i don't think anyone was acutually having a go at the band or the song. BTW Guilt is a top song. I believe people were having a go at the grammies. ersonnaly i don't take the grammies seriously. if they win an award i'll be happy for them. if they don't it will be no great loss.
i didnt mean just this thread buddy. sorry maybe i did fly off the handle, but i worked in the music industry for a label that was fashioned after Factory records in Vancouver Canada. i was in the thick of it and i saw a lot of ugly stuff. at the end of the day i was so glad i still had my passion for music and thats all that matters.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if they win, but it would be incredible if they do it with Guilt Is A Useless Emotion, when they failed with Blue Monday, True Faith and Bizarre Love Triangle.
Either the music scene today is pretty weak, either there is some injustice in this world.
But I like Guilt, it's my 3rd favorite song of the album after WFTSC and Krafty.
No one really knows why certain people or certain songs make the list of nominees for such awards as the Grammys, or why certain songs chart on Billboard... it could be payola, it could be luck of the draw. North Americam charts that are governed by such publications like Billboard seem to be all over the place... I personally don't pay attention to any of all that and if it comes to mind, all I say is great. New order's profile here in NA is such as a retro band. Hardly known for its recent material because they get no radio airplay whatsoever. Hell, even BM,TF or BLT, as big 'hits' as they are, were only known 'after' the fact... thanks to countless features on retro comps. And since everything old is new again...
If there is anything I can say about all this is that New order, in North America at least, have come full circle. Their sound has sustained the obscurity of the 80's and 90's and now a whole generation can discover New order, starting with the newly, albeit re-hashing of Joy Division through those low-fi pop-ish bands playing homage to them through their heavily borrowed guitar and bass riffs.
I think all of this exposure and various release formats shows some kind of positive light on the band, and I actually applaud Warner for helping to bring New order into the 21st century.
