Bollocks. I guess we're just gonna get bloody Festival dates this summer, and no gigs 'proper'? Hmmmm.

Mind you 2 nights on the trot in Germany does sound a tad more appealing that the one night in Sweden.

As Johnny Giles just pointed out to me - it's World Cup QF weekend. Just imagine us against the Germans that very weekend!!!

Anyone thinking of going then from England ? I guess the usual suspects will be there. Where are the festivals being held ?

Got a price of £132.60 from Gatwick to Bremen, departing Friday 21st June at 14.00 and returning on Monday 24th June at 12.20

I quite fancy doing one of the German festivals as its more accessible than Sweden though it also depends on whether they do Glasto or not.

My girlfriend has just said she wants a 'proper' holiday this year so a festival tour of Europe looks out of the question for me.

That Tania!!

Anyway, where are these festivals exactly? looked at a map on the site that Marco's supplied & it looks near Hanover. Is it 2 gigs at 2 separate festivals? Confused of Croydon.

England v Germany QF would be tasty. Went to Munich last September for the World Cup Qualifier & it was going off all over Munich.

Yes, I was just thinking the same Johnny G!

Any info on how to get to these festivals would be much appreciated (train stations / airports) etc.

Done quite a lot of research. The Hurricane one is a few miles from Bremen in the very North of Germany. The Southside one is right at the foot of Germany below the Schwarzwald, in a little village bloody miles from Bremen !

The websites don't make it clear which night they will be playing which festival, and it looks like you can only get two-day tickets for each festival.

There's flights from Gatwick to Bremen on the Friday 21st (no use if the first one is in Southern Germany !), otherwise it's a flight to Munich. Flights to Bremen seem to be around £130. I guess the train would be cheaper but obviously takes a lot longer !

Shall we find out who's interested in going, and take it from there ? I will certainly be at one show, both if it is at all possible. If the band can get from A to B, we can !

The map of the Southside Festival - bigger scale - it's near Tuttlingen, right at the bottom of the map linked below.

The Hurricane Festival is about an inch to the East of Bremen on this map linked below

Call me a pessimist, but I can't see us getting there either to be honest.

One thing for sure: Holland certainly will NOT be playing the QF (or any other match...). :(

But Germany, here I come!!! (again!)

The World Cup will be a poorer tournament without the Dutch team and supporters, that's for certain.

Indeed, the World Cup shall miss the Scottish too!

My, how the Dutch and the Scots supporters are gonna [ahem] 'party' together in Holland together this very eve.

My money's on 50 arrests. Minimum.

Yeah, I'm quite interested in doing one of the shows. Do any of our German online friends know which night their playing which festival?

I've been on to the website as well but unfortunately my German is not up to speed!

Hi there!

The line-up of the two festivals isn't finished yet, there are still more bands to be confirmed. So i guess, it'll take a while to learn about the running order...

cheers :D
