I'm coming, I can't wait to meet the gang in the flesh. It's gonna be a right hoot and one to remember, so all you folks on the good ship get your asses to the party. Free b&b at Livs for all comers!

Me and Johnny Giles are both gonna be In The Air-ee-Uh (to quote Manc speak) on said weekend now. Well, why not?
The ACR gig's actually the weekend after (when, again, I'm gonna be In The Air-ee-Uh). Has to be done.
Now, where's me passport.. ;)
See everyone soon!
I'd love to..but it appears I shall have to save my pennies for June...see all of you then???

think again I'm a non-starter. When you coming back to Landahn again? Otherwise it looks like it'll be the festivals (if they go ahead) before I can put in an appearance

me and the missus hopefully - trying to sort something out workwise for tuesday. Theres a superb line up of DJ's if you like that sort of thing as well. Emerson and Lottie both highly recommended
Indeed, I lurve that kind of thing :) Saw Emerson at Creamfields, and as per, he played Blue Monday.... Really looking forward to Monday night, not least because this flapping job is really getting on my proverbials - will be good to get away for a couple of days ;) Any nearby pubs to recommend for pre-club festivities?

Pubs aren't great round that way to be honest. Probably the most convenient is the pub right outside Farringdon station. It's about 5 mins down the road to Fabric.

I've sort of done my work for the day. Got a stinking hangover still from going out last night (pub giving away free voddy - quality idea), and my last hours work going to spent doing nuffink.
Whats your excuse - taking a sicky?
Sebsy - What's my excuse? Are yoiu ready fer this
I got suspended from work at 1'o'clock!!
Last night I thought it would be a good idea to put Radio 5 over the tannoy - so I could hear Rangers getting dumped out of Europe (couldn't get a good reception on the shop floor)
Got into work today, and I was told money went missing from Reception
And guess who's on camera planting the radio next to the tannoy!
Anyway - got a phone-call about 2.30 saying they looked at the video again and there were 2 dodgy looking fuckers rumaging through the desk - so I am cleared!!
Still can't believe the bastards suspended me - but at least I'm getting paid fer it
Back to work on Monday for an official warning though - cos I shouldn't have been there in the first place
But it was worth it - I announced over the Tannoy
"This is a public announcement, I am pleased to say to anyone who hasn't heard yet.....The Huns have been knocked out of Europe"![]()
Nightmare...as you say though its a day off work, can't be bad...Can't wait to Easter - it'll be my first days off since Chrimbo.
Anyway, who dares say the monarchy should be booted out when they come up with classics like this:
The Duke of Edinburgh has surprised Aborigines by asking: "Do you still throw spears at each other?"The Duke, visiting Australia with the Queen, was being introduced to Aboriginal cultural park owner William Brim when he made the trademark quip."No we don't do that any more," replied Mr Brim, 42, who later said he found the remark amusing but was surprised
Yeah - read that in the paper today mate
To be honest - I can't stand any of the Royal Family......but I make an exception fer Prince Philip - no-matter where he goes, he always upsets someone....he visited Glasgow 2 years ago, a factory making electrical stuff, and he says to the foreman "How do you keep the natives off the drink long enough, for them to do some work?" fuckin classic!!
I's reading a list of his gaffes earlier and theres some classics - liek the 'this fuse looks like it was built by an Indian', but my absolute fave was this one I think:
Everybody was saying we must have more leisure. Now they complain they are unemployed" - in the 1981 recession.

We should really have started a new thread concerning Philpot!
I remember him saying of Sarah Ferguson, "If it's got two legs but can't fly, if it's alive but pinned down, if it's got meat on it - she'll eat it"![]()

Cheers for that Seb. Guess I'll just go along with whatever my native London friends suggest once I'm there. If you see a drunken looking Geordie staggering about, don't be afraid, that'll just be me enjoying myself ;)
Oh, and Shug - nice to see someone had a worse day at work than me ;)
I'll go, if anyone's willing to spring for airfare, hotel room, room service, s, booze, and bailing me out of jail.....:D
I'd love to but I can't.......

I might pop down and see people for a swift El Pinto or 2 but I doubt whether I'll make it to Fabric with it being a school night.
I thought it would be a good idea to start off in Dry201 for tradtions sake (even if its a bleeding dive these days!) crawl a few bars in town then head over to Deansgate and go to the Brickhouse, which is on Whitworth Street West, opposite where the Hacienda was. Saturday night at the Brickhouse is called "Parklife" and is generally 80's and 90's indie stuff... always play NO/JD and many many more...:)And the times ive been (quite a few recently in the name of consumer testing obviously!) its been bloody brilliant. For those of you who dont know it, its a bit a dingy but a brilliant atmosphere... but great music...
What do others think? Good plan?
Liv

P.S. BTW The food counter in Dry201 is called "Dr Livvy's".... fucking coincidence or what? It's fate i tell you....*sigh* Bernard *sigh*
Seems word of the drink-up is getting around. Alex '66 gigs' Stash sent me a text on Friday night wondering why he hadn't been invited?! And he's not even a NOOL'er!! Think Martin Gray had mentioned it to him. . .

Tragic news...
It looks like I will be missing this one. After the great night out that was Derby I really want to go, but I can't.
:( :( :( ![]()
ShugZV (who is crying into his Bovril reading this I'm sure) here is an explanation why...
I finish Uni on Friday the 22nd of March and my dad will be coming to collect me and all my stuff to take back home to sunny sheffield on Sunday the 24th. So, unless i can go out in Manc and get back here in one night its gonna be a problem...
Maybe i'll work something out... hmmmmm....

Do you need to book in advance to get that price?
Originally posted by Sloppy Giuseppe Anyone driving up from London, or is it train all the way ? Just think of all those bootleg opportunities on the car stereo !
Yeah, booked that ticket already from virgintrains.co.uk - some sort of Apex deal.
If there is any way I can get back the same night i'll be there... but that doesn't seem likely.
As yet i am unsure ofmy movements (?!) for said weekend but all things being well and providing no-one minds i may join in the shandy drinking festivities. The necessity to be back in lovely tamworthcestersire by 9.00am next morning will mean an early start sunday so if that's of any use to you Major i could offer you a lift?
