anybody heard the latest album from Clap yer hands say yeah. Best thing Ive heard in ages. Very New Orderish, especially the track 'The skin of my yellow country teeth' Anybody else agree.

It is very good. but not new order like. I've seen them a couple of times, and NO didnt exactly spring to mind.
yeah, ive saw them live not very long ago. all that came to mind was a slighty weird(er) Arcade Fire
They're a lot better than I would have expected with all the hype.
Better than Arctic Monkeys at least.
CYHSY! are probably the only 'hyped' band that have justified all the fuss over the last god knows how many years... Don't really hear the NO though, Pavement spring to mind at times...

I didn't get the Clap.
But I'd prefer them over most other current bands. Their singer's voice can grate a bit though.
Agree the voice can get a bit annoying - I don't think I have listened to the album all the way through yet!...

my first impression of Clap's singer was an annoying David Byrne imitating Violent Femmes imitation. didn't really draw me in so i have not giving the record much of a listen, seems less emotional/ straitforward and more playing an act
the music is all over the place, one track opens in somewhat similar New Order fashion with bass. could make references from many bands from Modest Mouse back to the 80s.
