there are quite a few pubs around the Apollo area (within a 10 minute walk) as i used to work around there; so if anyone is struggling for somewhere to meet up, send me an email and i'll get some decent pubs listed on here.
I'm only posting this now as I reckon some research needs to be done on the area. At least it gives me an excuse to get pissed more often lol 
i know there used to be a decent irish boozer not far away where toss the feathers used to hang out.
i, myself, won't be going to dry. been there, done that - it's full of either posing wankers, or students with rich parents these days - as the price of drinks is unfeasibly silly compared to most pubs in the city centre.
the pubs near the olympia in liverpool were dead cheap, and rammed too

How long are you over for Jeff? Try and make it to one of the Manc gigs if you can - I'm sure you'd be able to get a ticket from a tout (although it would be extortionate).

Keep us up to date with the meet-up pub. I'm not sure how I'm getting to Manc yet (car or train) so I have no idea what time I'm arriving - what sort of time you thinking of meeting?
