Q Magazine Manchester Special

out today in the UK and full of rare and exclusive NO/JD material.

i'll look out for it here in about a month here then.

Maybe two months. What's on the cover so I know what to loook for?

i just had a look a the q homepage. they still have that dylan one up.

I think my school sells that magazine in its store. Wasn't Q Magazine the one that had Sid Vicious on the cover as a feature for The Punk Rock Special?

i just bought Q manchester special its fucking excellent. BUZZCOCKS,JOY DIVISION,ACR,MORRISSEY,SMITHS,STONE ROSES interviews with hooky,tony wilson.feature on martin hannett.big section on the smiths,which i love.loads of old photo's, posters,gig tickets etc 6 quid though!!!! i had to put half my shopping back to afford it

I love the title "Morrissey and the Story of Manchester Music" yet doesnt mention the Moz until page 60-odd.

Nice to read the interview with Clint Boon, saying their will be Inspirals gigs this year. Should keep me entertained for a while. Hope theres no clashes though.

Had to laugh at Tony Wilson article.When people ask where's he from...Manchester? No Salford. Ah yes Salford,Manchester? No FCUKING SALFORD. I'm like that when I'm checking car log books at work,could be registered to Mickey Mouse for all I know...but I'm always crossing Salford,Manchester out! It's like..where are you from? Oxford,London?

well I went from Oxford to London and back on the weekend (to watch a rubbish football match) and it was about 2 hours each way on the coach. Surely Salford is only a few minutes from Manchester?...

I tried to look for it in the student store. There is the April 2006 Bob Dylan issue, but still no Manchester Special. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer. I hope my college gets the special issue.

Yes, me too. The same three pictures of Martin Hannett always pop up, but there are quite a few in this one I'd never seen before. Lots of new anecdotes too. I'd like to read the interview with Martin where he explains why Joy Division sounds like Manchester (it is mentioned in the interview with Johnny Marr).

Found this in an obscure local newsagents yesterday, never even knew they sold British mags. Very overpriced and, I have to agree with Liam, nowt special.

I especially enjoyed the Devoto/Buzzcocks and Slaughter and The Dogs articles!! It's the old punk within.

Just got the Mojo edition of the Manchester Special. I found this issue very catchy, more than the DM + Electropop History one, although not so complete... I never got why do people always seem to forget about James (the band). Always thought they were much more loved...
