Excellent unearthing there OB.
Now it's in the public domain, wonder if a certain memorabilia monopolist from Miami will fly over and lodge an offer the estate "just can't refuse".

Something looks odd about Barney's right arm, seems a bit large. ![]()
the photos and slides don't look like they've been kept in the best of shape over the years. they need to be framed and hanging on my wall as soon as possible. for preservation's sake, of course.
Fookin ell!
What I wouldn't give to have a good rummage through some of that!
There will be some fucking great stuff in there that no-one knows about!!!!!!
Agent, you'd have the pictures in preference to the tapes? 200 (two hundred) mixing desk recordings...
.

They don't know themselves yet! Just asked them, and they haven't been chronicled yet.

Woah, is that little lot tantalising? Any idea what is likely to happen to it all?

Holy grail. Holy shit!
I'm unclear, is this stuff up for auction or sale?
If so, let's start a NOOL pledge drive and try to snap these up before it's gone forever.

My reaction exactly. Oh wow.
Surely no one would mind me just standing in the same room as it all. ![]()

Nope, none of it is for sale, far from it. It's in safe storage to preserve the history and to prevent it being sold off to collectors and sultans ;)
This really is the Holy Grail. Who would I have to do… I mean what would I have to do to get into that storage unit?:wink3:
So will we finally know when and where JD was going to play in the US? Or is that already known and I’m a bit behind?
Did Ian never get to hear the final version of Closer? The date on Rob’s test pressing is May 18. And I like that it says “Closer__ to what?”

Who owns this treasure and what are their intentions? ![]()

actually, yes. i've always loved photography and i'm getting into it even more now--i want to spend more time exploring it as a hobby. so, the photographs jumped out at me at first glance.
'course, i wouldn't turn down the recordings, either!
Imagine the possibilities... ![]()
Seriously though, they could have done Retro WITH THIS... not ATR's stuff ![]()
I'm prepared to wager that none of the recordings used in Retro will be found in this pile - and that they only had one tape of each gig, Hooky had some, Rob had some, Steve had some. The ones used on Retro were merely the ones Hooky had!
I think I need a napkin after seeing that box of live tapes.
I know the public will never have access to that kind of stuff, but couldn't Tony Wilson or someone do something along the lines of the Preston/Bains Douches releases with some of this. Obviously, we're not going to get 200 live albums on London Records (and even though they're from the desk it doesn't mean they're definitely worth releasing), but 4 or 5 select shows released on a small budget like the JD ones might be a good idea.
Just a thought.
And, of course if they want to consult me on which shows, I'll be glad to help out ewith any suggestions.:D
I don’t think he and Lesley ever married, but I guess this stash is hers and their kids now.
lets hope some of the recorded stuff gets into our grubby little hands. How about a MP3 archive which you have to subscribe to then all money going to local manchester charities???
Fookin' hell....most of us would kill to see(or hear)some of this lot up close and personal....meself included...thanks for posting the link OB![]()
