Hi, fellows! I have a question... :confused2:

I have a "Touched by the Hand of God" single but it's not a picture/printed CD. And both sides of the compact disc plays normally!!! It's very strange... Does anybody knows something about that? The CD is not a bootleg and that's an original disc because in the center of that single contains the following writtings: "FACD 193" and "Mastered by Nimbus".

Excuse my bad english!!! (I'm from the portuguese forum) :thumb:

Regards!

i know your english isn't briliant but a cd that plays both sides??? :wtf:

If its says Mastered By Nimbus and is Facd193 then that sounds like the official cd single release of it.Has the 12" mix ,Confusion Dub 87 and Temptation Original*

* except it's not the original Temptation , it's the 87 mix

My "Touched" single has "12 Inch Mix", "Confusion Dub 87" and "Temptation"... But I am still surprised with that enigma because my CD really plays on both sides!!! I thought that you had any knowledge about that.

Totally off topic... I have a Sugarcubes 12" with two parallel grooves with diferent tracks on the same side wich is very strange. Never heard of another record like that

a cd that plays both sides would be a first for me too. the double groove record is not however. i've got a 12" by M (popmusic) that is supposed to be the first double groove record. and thats from 1979. records with an endless runoff groove were fun too. ;)

Heaven 17's Penthouse and Pavement has an endless run off groove aswell. On the subject of double sided cd's, used a few black double sided for data, but never seen an audio release. Anyone else had or seen one?

I'm not kidding, fellows... It's really serious... If I didn't have a doubt, I will never ask you about that... I didn't get find an answer for that fact and that's the reason because I searched for help in this forum.

And yes, the other side has the same tracks...

is it the normal thickness for a cd, and not two cds stuck together.

The CD came with a gatefold card picture sleeve as any original edition, with the same notes.

Only record with parallel groove that I know of was The Sugarcube's "Birthday" (mentioned before - it was the one with Jesus & The Mary Chain) - remember nearly ruining my mate's record by attempting to play the other track whilst pissed at a party!

Looks like Tony Wilson has quietly reformed Factory Records and made a deal with SONY Music, thus the first trial pressing of re-issued NO singles for RECYCLED BOX 2006 in DUAL-DISC format...............................................................puff! wake up, wake up  ...oh, just a dream...duh! :D

De La Soul's 'Me, Myself & I' 12" single on TommyBoy Records from 1988 was sold as a "Special 3-Sided Record".

I sold the 12" sometime in the early 90s but the B-Side, if your needle hit the groove just right, it would play another song, "Brain Washed Follower" as opposed to the remixes of the title track.

I believe on the re-press, they put in the "hidden" track as B1 and the 2 remixes follwed as B2 and B3.

Discogs'll set you straight, I'm sure.

All the Jacko cd single re-releases that have come out in the Past few weeks are double sided (or "Dualdisc"). I think it's CD on one side and DVD (ie the video) on the other. I haven't actually bought any of them tho, so um don't ask me any questions! (I think it's "Bad" this week, it was "Beat it" last week. Some might say it's "Bad" every week!)

i've bought them, they're shit, the music side is the main single and some shitty remix and the dvd is an un remastered video, quick buck me thinks

The CD has a normal thickness...

Thanks for all. Regards.

What CD player have you got?

Some models started to include 2 lasers, above & below.

So the could play/read data for double capacity discs which had two layers of silver foil. Computer drives were more common for this.

Could it be reading the same data but from the diferent lasers?

Dave, my cd player is a Philips model "CD164". I don't know if that player has two lasers. Cheers.
