go get it. highly recommeded for all fans. be aware that it only goes up to 1993 and many of the videos are also on collection.

yes and no. i just checked. a third of it is covered by the credits ie you see the cedits and not the video.

Cheers Ron - it would be good to see part of it anyway. I saw a snippet of it on 24 Hour Party People and felt like I'd seen it before, years ago, but not realising then what it was.

you can probably find it on youtube.com in fact i'm sure of it
I found New Order Story to be disappointing in some ways. The narration is particularly dreadful-treacle and tacky. The Bono interruptions are infuriating, and the sequencing in general is a little lazy.
I just bought the DVD recently, but I haven't watched it yet. I can't wait to see it, though.
the new order story is a must buy.
spookily enough reading this thread the image at the top was from the atmosphere vid!

What a quality site. Interesting to see JD play Shes Lost Control and Shadowplay in a pub. What great sound and picture, very clear. Amazing.
just go and get it. i can't believe there are actually noolers out there who still don't have it.
It's only a "must" buy because there's nothing else like it for new order. but aside from the video shots and certain interviews with the band, this is a piece of crap documentary. i much prefer watching the band play on 316 or 511 over and over, than going through this new order story nonsense again.

Agreed, the narration by Jenny Seagrove (who was in... Erm... fuck knows what) totally ruins NewOrderStory, when you hear her voice on the doco it's best to fast forward, her "enthusiasim" for the band makes me want to up-chuck.

agreed. and why the terrible faux american accent? she sounds like she's narrating a forensic show.

Had completely forgotten about all these great and not-so-great aspects of NOStory... Really should reinvest in it... My bloody sister taped over my original copy... I should probably forgive all these years later, but...

I think the American (the half hour) version is edited beautifully. My only complaint is that you have no idea who half the people talking are. The expanded version now on dvd goes on a bit long but gives you a better sense of the band as a whole and their story.

with the dvd release don't you now have the same version as us?

yes, but previously we had to settle for the 5-minute VHS version.

if it makes you feel better, then i'll tell you that it was only many years after it was released that i finally managed to track down a copy of it. i didn't have the cash and was a bit immobilized at release time. uhm and yes it was the nice long version.
