I apologize if this has been mentioned already but I opened up the April 2006 issue of DVD Monthly and in the music section they mention that Warner Music has announced that "New Order-Live" will be released in May

The blurb said no further details (ie tracklisting) were released..

This mag is also from the UK so I don't know if and when worldwide editions will also be released

are there any more details? has anyone else heard of this?

Wahey! Heck I hope so. One thing they aren't really into in DVD extras, so I hope they include some of those. Maybe some 80s TV spots? It's ridiculous that Play at Home hasn't been an extra, it is the very definition of an extra. Unless copyright is an issue.

i just hope it isn't something from 2005 which we all already have.

I am thinking Brixton from November?

THE DVD WAS RECORDER LIVE IN NYC AT HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM , BARNEY TOLD THE AUDIENCE THAT TODAY'S GIG WAS BEING RECORDER FOR A DVD.

I agree, New York Hammerstein.

I wouldn't expect too many extras but here's hoping

An old post we had a while ago said the dvd was going to be a indoor/outdoor dvd. With the New York and the Hyde Park London concerts being used for it.

But if you look at the tracklistings for the concerts they are not that different. I think it would be better if they use Hyde Park London and Brixton Academy London as the two concerts. I'm not sure if Brixton was filmed? but Manchester was.

no need to shout (using capitals). most if not all gigs are actually videotaped these days, so who knows what it will be. even if barney said it would be that gig.

I don't really long for a 2005 live DVD... Wouldn't mind if they'd release "my" concert - in Oakland :) But it won't happen ever.

But anyway, I would better go with the proper the release of PFD together with Academy, with LOTS of extras from the 80s (TV apprearances, etc.), or something like that.

OR: does anyone know where can one get video recordings of Apollo 98 and Alexandria Palace 98? As I saw on 511, they were quite professionally taped...

I'll keep my eyes open for it. Perfect gift to enjoy my summer vacation.

Academy hasn't been re-released because of copyright issues, I think. Who knows what's holding down PFD outside of Japan though.

Also, Apollo and Ally Pally were shot by Shamberg, so unless he lets those loose, we won't see any more than what's on 511.

I think it's because the publishing rights are part owned by Nippon Columbia.

new album, new dvd, video show, all we need now is the news of some live dates!

a combination would be good, like on 316. One from 98 and one from 2005

Personally, I'm hoping it's the Oakwood High School performance. :eek3:

Yeah, I agree, it's going to be like 511 with a few different songs but the usual setlist. I can only hope it won't be and will be something ace.

Cue another release that just doesn't cut the mustard.

I've often wondered why New Order and the BBC (2 great British institutions) don't sit down together and release a New Order Live at the BBC DVD, that captures the Oxford Roadshow (?) stuff, Rock Around the Clock, LIVE TOTP performances, Jools performances, Snub etc.

If we can have Peel Sessions, and New Order in session on CD, then why not a DVD.

I'd like to have PFD with the missing tracks.

Manc v Cancer was also recorded.

Err, so was Peel Night :ignore:

I heard two gigs from last year were recorded, as well as Manc Aid. We'll see...

I thought all of their recent gigs were taped so it could be a compilation one or all. or rerelease of the old videos.

If there were more recent gigs that were recorded, the DVD's will certainly make great additions to my NO memorabilia collection.

I'd love some really top footage of old concerts - in the league of New York off 316. All the recent concerts are pretty similar. Sublime, but similar.
