At the risk of upsetting everyone....there's a new remix out there of Madonna's "Get Together" remixed by Jacques Luc Cont/Stuart Price that has a strong naked bass line that sounds remarkably like Hooky playing....anyone else hear this?

the mix aint bad, I gotta say

Madonna? Ugh, when will she die?

I doubt Hooky played on it. Or that Lu Cont borrowed it. It's probably just something sequenced, so Madonna's track sounds better than the original. A bit of Hooky-esque bass can do the best for the weakest singers. It would probably do wonders for Britney Spears, too.

There is something of a history of this. See two of LuCont's remixes for The Killers.

There may be some vague link...

Barney attended Madonna's recent (ish) return to her roots gig (to launch her new album) in the London Nightclub where she first started out...

Well... since Madonna wrote parts of Morning, Night and Day... anything can happen... :evil4:

(Joking of course, Material Girl beats seems to be part of MND ;) )

lest we forget the depeche mode/new order mash up Stuart Price did otherwise known as "A Jetstream Pain That I Am Used To"

every producer/remixers falls into the pit of being formulaic at some point in time...

Dunno whether anybody else on here actually bought/burned copies of/downloaded tracks off/stole Madge's entire latest CD or parts thereof(apart from myself or nooligan)but I pointed out once before that an otherwise fairly banal track called I Love New York has some suspicously similar basswork on it to ICB from NO's debut Movement. Lu Cont/Price is either good at mimicking Hooky's basslines with his own playing, knows a fair bit about sampling Hooky's riffs and then running them back through some seriously good realtime sequencing software/hardware and marching it in time to the Killers or Madge's chart contributions....or maybe the Hookster IS moonlighting and couldn't give a flying FOOK who pays him these days...as long as he does gets paid..... I'd hate to cross the bugger otherwise

Only just, I'd reckon.
