Having wished for Joy Division songs for years, they have all been fulfilled.

Now I'd die happy with AGE OF CONSENT being brought back to the setlist. I'd gladly cut either Toothache or BLT from the Holy Trinity.

I'd love to hear TPK tho I think TPK, Round & Round, & Fine Time may have something in common

the orginal electroninics on the master tracks may be so old it might be prohibitively difficult to get them translated to anything that can be used on stage-I mean find the masters, etc.

Tho Blue Monday got that cause well it is a CLASSIC after all

The last two albums are shamefully underrepresented live :nonono: However, this is due to their legendary reluctance to dust off sequencers and play some live synth parts :( My wish list...

Who's Joe Guilt is a Useless Emotion (impossible though, would be Steve, Barney and Phil behind keyboards/comps w/ Hooky jamming away)

Vicious Streak (this should be the mello mid-set break, NOT Run Fookin' Mild) Primitive Notion (only if they rehearse it beforehand!) Someone Like You Player in the League

Avalanche (with Gillian on vocals of course)

haystack or sugarcane...

This Time of Night (from Low-life) or... Mr. Disco (from Technique)

"Guilt is a Useless Emotion (impossible though, would be Steve, Barney and Phil behind keyboards/comps w/ Hooky jamming away)"

This would be awesome! It would be a lot more interestign than watchign New Order plod thru yet another boring guitar driven song such as Hey Now What Are you Doing?

I'd love to see

Vanishing Point Fine Time Everything's Gone Green (should have been a part of every show in 2005, not just 2 shows) Confusion The Perfect Kiss Thieves Like Us Special Touched By the Hand of God Guilt Is a Useless Emotion Paradise

Primitive Notion (my favourite song on Get Ready).

I just don't get NO, check out their setlists on the Technique tour - much more variety in terms of tracks used - back when computers/sequencers didn't have either the capacity or reliability that they do now, so what do we get now - less variety.

Lazy stubborn fucking twats. That's what they are.

As I have said several times before, replicating a tune written on one rig, on another is an abject nightmare. Parts which funk on one bass sound on one synth, fall flt on their arse on another. Having said that, I always preferred the more honest live versions of their electronic pieces (I can't be the ONLY person who thinkis BM sounds better with a voyetra playing the bass than the Moog Source on the record or the current karaoke version).

They COULD do it, repogram te tracks to play live, but with the record company's sick obsession with live gigs sounding like studio recordings, it's far more likely that any older machine based tunes will end up being further mime-along versions. :(

So sad...I always felt the early True Faiths (87-93), I've Got a Cock Like the M1, Shellshock, early 586s and countless others sounded different from the album, therefore more experimental, raw and fresh, sometimes better than the recorded version. I go to concerts to hear how songs sound in a different context.

Ahhh to be alive at an earlier time... :(

well said. Gigs are what a song really sounds like. Studio's give you the committee version :D

I reckon that Perfect Kiss would be awesome live - but you'd have to have :gillian: of course.

I burst into tears BIG TIME when Barney played that little pastiche of the string-pad from TPK over the end of BM in the Apollo, was one of the most special and perfect moments of my whole life.

EDIT: it's as good an argument against tape as any....if BM had been live ( or if Roger L did any more than press start and go for a fag), the BM bass could easily have been pulled out andwuite the little TPK improv could have been achived. But because New Order are no mimers like kylie and westlife, and because that's not what the record does....no dice, barney's inspiration cut off in it's prime.

Wish I could have been there to hear that.

Top 5 tracks they need to start playing/bring back again:

  1. Special
  2. Too Late
  3. Doubts Even Here
  4. Sabotage
  5. Here To Stay

Thank you. :)

Here to Stay. I saw them with the Chemcial Brothers in Oakland, Ca and was hoping they would play it. I wouldn't mind hearing New Order's cover of Vietanm. Peter Hook's basslines are beautiful on that track!!!
