its almost good. it has a goofy "Inside" part to it that is annoying if you want just the facts. The facts part are good and very detailed. Nice photos. Hard to find in the USA.

is it a new book or is it a reissue of 'from Joy Division to New Order, the Factory Story' as both are by Mick Middles?
it is the same book ,i have the original and although it isgood in parts there is a lot better info elsewhere including about 12 PARADISE FANZINES that where done.I have still got evry article from SOUNDS NME RECORD COLLECTOR ,the defunct SPIRAL SCRATCH VOX SELECT Q and the FACE.Also many other articles gathered over the years from collectors.I know it is sad but i do use them for reference.But what is the truth about this group no idea.
As stated previously in another thread, I was able to get the reissue, and it made my week-long summer break interesting. There's a few factual and typo errors, but it doesn't distract from the overall tale. I was frustrated by a lack of discussion about New Order's first few years, but otherwise I'd say it's pretty good.
Given the Order's return (and what other band makes their 'comeback' three years before putting out a new record?), the high-profile of 24HPP, and the fact that there hasn't been a book documenting our fave three boys & a girl combo post-"Technique", I'd imagine someone somewhere is compiling a new tome.
And if they aren't, we'll have to do it.

'Dreams Never End' by some bloke called Claude something, is a decent enough read. A bit short, but quite entertaining. I think it was written about '94.
I read it last month. Pretty good. Interesting bits and pieces that some of the other stuff / books and reviews didn't cover....
you should be able to find From Joy Division to New Order at your local Barnes and Nobles. I found a copy 2 months ago and looked again last night and saw 2 more copies. Looks like it's back on the shelves. It's not that good but it does include a good amount of information on Manchester bands in the late 70's.
