I not have have the UK cd single #1 of Ruined in a Day but I did copy it to my computer some time ago. Listening today, almost all the remixes sound the same. I'm talking about the
Dance Hall Groove Sly & Robbie The Live Mix Rhythm Twin Dub
This can't be right. in my itunes library, everyone one of them starts with same african chant and then the mix begins. But they all sound so similar. Is this right? Can someone tell me the differences between these mixes? Will

Yeah they all sound the same. They're not fantastic mixes and even the band themselves have admitted as much since then. Smart digipack and artwork though, pity about the CD within.
The Dance Hall Groove, Sly & Robbie and Rhythm Twin Dub all sound identical to me. Some have the lyrics coming in a little sooner or not at all on the Dub (I think). The Live Mix has a different sounding drum loop rhythm after the intro "chant".
As Paul Calf would say: "Bag o' shite", Sly and Robbie should not be let near New Order's music again! 
Thanks for your help. Glad I only kept cd #2 One of these mixes would have been fine, but they are all identical. I think the best mix might have to be the instrumental.
Now I also assune the K-Klass Mix and the Reunited In A Day mix are the same. Is the K-Klass edit just a shorter version or is it different?

Reunited In A Day was mixed by K-Klass. The edit is indeed shorter and is available on a 1 track promo CD. There is also an instrumental version of the full Reunited mix, but it can only be found on the promo 12".
As for those Sly and Robbie mixes, the best course of action is to hit them VERY hard with a VERY big hammer...
