Okay, I'd like this topic to hopefully reveal a little bit more about NOOLers. It should be entertaining. If people like this, I'll come up with variations on the theme. If not, I'll humbly move on and probably debate Thieves Like Us vs Lonesome Tonight for the umpteenth time when someone else starts a new thread.

So, what is Your Perfect Night when it comes to NO? Do you get drunk and listen to PCL and Lowlife back to back? Do you cook dinner with your girlfriend and throw on Technique with thoughts of nicer weather? Do you watch French films in between rotating Singles?

I for one am a big fan of throwing on New Order at around or after 5:00 in the evening. It's like I'm getting my second wind while preparing for class or a bit of rejuvenation after work. And as someone said a while back, Temptation is perfect for the walk to campus or work. Even better is the Perfect Kiss.

Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be a night involving NO. My bandmate/roommate asked me if it was a morning ritual for me to listen to NO. I said no, but realized I was damn close to making this to be the case.

Sitting in my room with the headphones in listening to as much as I can in the time that I have! Absorbing every little note, hook and fill till I know them off by heart - so when I'm having a crap time somewhere I have a mental radio I can play in my head to escape!

Never listen to New Order at home, but then I rarely listen to music at home anyways. My main listening hours are via my iPod on the tube in the morning and coming home again at night, and then I'll only get New Order if they appear on shuffle, which is how I prefer to listen to music at the moment. Heard Sunrise in Finsbury Park this morning (as in, whilst I was there, and not a live recording from a gig) and then The Eternal in Kings Cross, which I'd usually fast-forward through to something a bit more cheery but I'm trying to give every tune a fair chance at the moment and see things through to the end.

Perfect night with New Order would've course be seeing them live, and not listening to them via another medium!

Perfect NO night at home would probably be getting hold of one of the recordings from 84 or 85 that hasn't surfaced yet.

A far more perfect night involves actually being at an NO gig. That is what nights were invented for.

hearing them in the pub after i've already had a few and i'm on my way to my 'alcohol apex of joy.' then off to see them live in an intimate venue with a lively crowd.

after din-din, me and the missus like to have a few drinks, and have new order dance parties... from time to time they'll go horizontal! :sex:

I must admit I associate NO with times I've gotten pretty hot 'neath the collar. I haven't yet had the opportunity to introduce NO when making dinner with my girlfriend. Next time I visit her will be at the end of May: perfect time for so many of their songs.

Playing some 12" mixes like WFTSC (Wally Jagel Tribute Mix), Nineteen 63 (Joe T. Vannelli Light Mix) and The Other Two's 'You Can Fly (Quake Vocal) and sparking one up.
