Alistair MacGowans truly awful detective series Mayo, last week featured A group of old folk doing aerobics while someone bashed out Blue Monday on a grand piano. Sounded quite good.

And it sounded good!
Forgot to mention it on here, as soon as I saw it I texted DoN, Jarvo and Hibster though ![]()
Bizarre Love Triangle 3 times this week after 5:00 pm -- I think there is a NOOLer in my area!

You reminded me, MacGowan was sporting Al's sideys.

sounds to me he/she only likes BLT, surely a real fan would play a variety of tracks ?!
heard Ceremony on french TV this sunday in 'Auto-Moto' program, talking about the new Audi TT. :car:
My geography teacher told me he was "rocking out" to WFTSC on radio 2 the other day.
I dunno how u would rock out to that track, i think he just wanted to sound cool. Loves new order though ![]()
forgot to mention this last week, ITV's sunday night highlights of the Grand Prix started with a version of Jetstream (not sure which mix though)

Probably not in this area of the States. BLT is pretty much the only song the DJs seem to play here in the clubs and on the radio... Sometimes I think the DJs think NO is a one-hit band... ![]()

I doubt Green is in my area...!
filling up @ 2.50 a gallon premium this morning i got "getting away with it" while waiting for 13.5 gallons to pump.
i went to the swimming pool a couple of months ago, and they were playing a horrible remix of blue monday with kylie minogue singing over the top of it.
Yes, it's tough being a NO fan in the States! BLT and Regret are the only songs I can think of that ever get any play, other than Crystal being on some car commercial.
I was walking down to get the papers this morning, when I heard Regret, appaently floating out of someone's window, chuffed, I wandered back home, only to discover it was my new phone which now has Regret as the ringtone... ![]()

Jetsteam while out clothes shopping at the weekend - the second time, in fact, that I've heard while purchasing new threads and the second time I've thought: "hmmm, this song works... in this context."
Not strictly related to the thread but when Radio 2 moved into new accommodation, the DJs newsreaders etc found that all the clocks had been placed on walls BEHIND them! "And the time now is..er, hang on, um...."
OK, last weekend i was watching the GAA & Hurling on TG4 here in Ireland. (GAA is a football game, & TG4 is an irish language station - pronounced "T G ca-her"). I realised that the exit/intro music at each set of adverts sounded very familiar - either an instrumental section from RockTheShack, or some cheep imatation from U2!. Texted around a couple of other NOOLers in Dubland & MYOB was able to put me out of my misery - its RockTheShack! On TG4! All afternoon - the program lasts around 4 hours! (like a Grandstand for Irish sports, but with adverts)
Last time I heard NO on the radio was New Year's Eve - BLT. Don't listen to the radio much - most of it's crap.
Heard a bit of Crystal as a lead in to a commercial on the Commonwealth Games.
Marc wrote: True Faith on "The Next Song Will Be Great", VH2, about 5:10am.
VH2 loves New Order and Joy Division it seems, they play them all the time. Therefore I watch it all the time.
I think i will probably be the only one to admit this but Blue Monday was on that documentary about the Animal Farm 'porn' movie late last night on channel 4.
There, done it.
PS
FFS I hope the wife doesn't read this post!
World in Motion at my pub, video. I was a bit trashed when it played and pointed it out to my friend/flatmate that it's their worst song. ;P

Sounds a lot cooler than a former music teacher of yours!!

Prob gave TG4 an instrumental mix of the track-Rock The Shack was recorded at Pulse Studios in Dublin and Rob Kirwan the engineer prob did the instrumental edit.
prolly been said before, but just heard new order on the simpsons - blt. the one set in the future where nelson has got the 2 twins up the spout
In Spain for the last week, got in the lift to hear lyrics I recognised .... 30 secs to realise it was some godawful cover of BLT. Went back down in the lift and up again just to listen to how bad it was.
I've heard the bloody awful Kylie mix of Blue Monday in clubs here in Guangzhou, China a few times; I have a mate who is a DJ in another bar downtown and plays the real Blue Monday for me whenever I walk in though. Can still remember hearing a great remix of Crystal on my very first night out here! One of the bars in downtown Guangzhou (Canton) has the 24HRPP soundtrack in the jukebox, which I only discovered during Thursday Happy Hour last week. Found a great authentic Ian Curtis poster in a market here last year; bargained them down to Y20, which is like one pound 25p I think. God knows how it got here; it was pretty old but in great condition. Finally, we stage Indie nights in the bar that I'm a part-owner of and plenty of New Order/J.D. gets played then. But as I'm leaving China soon someone else is going to have to take up the task of "educating the locals"! Joy Division do seem to have influenced a lot of bands on the Beijing punk/underground scene though, but thats all the way at the other end of the country...
my family's from Guangzhou China.. pretty cool to hear about the JD info. there. It was also cool to see the Ceremony video that was filmed in China on the Item DVD. I was born in HK when it belonged to the British. Which made me proud to say that I was a Brit for a bit until my family moved to the US, and now we're US citizens.
Anyways.. on biz travel in Simi Valley, CA today and heard BLT playing as background music at Burbank Airport as I was trudging to the car rental... driving to work from there, someone on Kiss FM requested New Order and they played Blue Monday.

a busker came on to a london underground tube i was on last week and played True Faith! its the first time ive ever heard a busker playing NO. I gave him a pound for his troubles:)
What instrument did the busker have? I saw WFTSC in the pub. And my flatmate has some live song by RHCP and they opened the song with the Transmission intro.

just a guitar - you could say he was singing an 'accoustic' version of the song...
Saw a lad in Morrisons with a NewOrder T-Shirt on last week. Big fucking deal your thinking right? He was only about 6! Wanted to take a picture of him on my phone, but didn`t fancy being locked up! Fair play to the little lad.
One of the guys in our office was doing the World in Motion rap the other day. Thought you'd all like to know. I also heard them on the radio as well.

Are you sure that he was gling to Japan, if he passed through the xray sideways he may be going to Bang Cock![]()
Think it was China actually!
I do know that he bumped into Brian Whittaker at the airport as well.
The Orgy cover of Blue Monday was used during the showing of the football ladders a few times on sports tonight, tonight. Aussie viewers.
When I went to movies coiple weeks ago, I heard age of consent on the theaters speaker radio.
Trinny and Susanah or whatever they're programs called was on in the background some months ago and crystal was being played as incidental music (- vocals)
There was a thing on Channel 4 about Wearside Jack, the Yorkshire Ripper hoaxer. A large bit of Incubation was used for the scene where Sutcliffe is caught with a prostitute in his car and false number plates - the event that subsequently led to his conviction as The Ripper.
ADvert for programme about bradd pitt and angelina jolie on C4 featured Bizzare Love Triangle in the background.
So, I heard BLT (12 inch version) on Cool fm 107.5 in Barrie. Strange, 12 inch version. But It was cool that they do that.
more blt: a godawful cover version of some emo-girl with only an acoustic guitar I heard on Phil Jupitus this morning.. oh well, he promised they'd play the original later on to make up for it ;) Hope I didn't miss that.
Retroesque wrote: ADvert for programme about bradd pitt and angelina jolie on C4 featured Bizzare Love Triangle in the background.
Just heard that - good choice of tune, considering the subject:
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston! ![]()
Waht was that commercial I heard awhile ago when they advertised something, and I heard some female singing BLT in the background?
Heard 60 Miles an Hour coming out of a shop in a shopping centre. Of course I went in there pretending to look at things so I could listen to it ![]()
About a week ago, I heard a New Order song blasting on the PA system in Wal-Mart as the store was closing for the night.
Go figure. ![]()
OMG - I can't believe I heard 60 miles and hour twice in one weekend - it was on just before as a promo for channel ten's sports tonight.

I really didn't have a choice because nearing midnight, I needed to buy some packing tape for shipping something the next morning and there were no nearby Walgreens, so Wal-mart was my only option.
And yes, there is a Wal-mart that closes in California... it's on the 101. Go figure!
At least someone had the decency to play NO while I was in the Wal-mart...
PS -- Boy, I must really love NO if I will confess that I slipped and shopped at Wal-mart at one time on this forum.... ![]()
Here To Stay in the pub today, no video as they were showing cricket.
My pub has some ace songs sometimes.
True Faith this evening. I should give up, I go to the pub often and they play NO occasionally.
Other than the hip hop and modern indie they play like
Here To Stay True Faith [haven't seen the video in the pub yet] Blue Monday World In Motion
LWTUA [see Here To Stay]
JAMC - Some Candy Talking
How much time do you spend in the pub Marc!
Went to a football shop in town yesterday to inquire about a job. I was in there less than a minute (the fella there was a bit of a dick who didn't give me a chance) but I know he was watching golf on the telly over which Hey Know... was playing. As I tried to hide my disappoint I was also thinking 'Oh that's New Order'
Shug wrote: LWTUA was on Doctor Who a couple of weeks back. Dunno why I've suddenly remembered this
Jezus Shug, I'll have to keep an eye out for that episode when it gets an airing down here. Quite surprised Cambo didn't post about that one first(unless the screening schedules for Dr Who are different in NI). BTW can ye remember what the episode was called for my future reference?? As for remembering that bit of info-just think back 26 years 2 days from now......
Atmosphere - on a program last night on either BBC or C4 about the Athena poster guy (L'Enfant). The poster with the hunky guy holding the baby... Turns out, he's a dickhead (the hunky guy, not the baby) but at least the music was good.

Think Cambo did post. And so did I. It's the one where the Doctor meets Sarah-Jane and K9 again for the first time in years.
Getting Away with it followed directly by True Faith Radio 2 yesterday afternoon; and then this morning Getting Away with it again.........on R2......unbelievable. Still, gives James Blunt a rest.
Snippets of She's Lost Control, LWTUA, Regret and Blue Monday aired on Real Football Factories.
Here to stay currently being played on World Cup Stories about France.
Sounds good alongside the magic of Zidane
There's something sounding suspiciously New Order-like running on the current ads for FilmFour on Channel 4. Anyone know what it is?
Oldham's 96.2 The Revolution played "Temptation" this afternoon. DJ was Martin Coogan, lead singer of the Mock Turtles and Steve Coogan sibling.
I've mentioned The Revolution before. For those in Greater Manchester it is an absolute must. DJs include Mani, Smug Roberts and Mike Joyce and they play absolutely anything inc. an awful lot of NO. It is what Key 1-0-shite should be.
Not been on NOOL for a couple of months. Glad to see everybody'd still doing the do.
Love & Best wishes,
Barca.
PS: Good result against the Arsenal last week I see!
Jet Stream wrote: Here to stay currently being played on World Cup Stories about France. Sounds good alongside the magic of Zidane
what a player Zizou . at the end of April announced that he will be retiring after the Cup. NO spotting- pulling into the under ground the other night/ early morning 1:30 am to hear the first few notes of True Faith- extended mix, drove back out .. thinking I'd go drive around a bit.. then they played TBTHOG very strange -
I was just watching some day-time program about museums (in boredom) and while this man was hoing round a museum about tudors Regret was playing in the background.

I had no idea The Rev was a local channel, i'll try it. Apparently XFM is good for The Smiths and New Order too.
I heard World In Motion on Radio One on the way home today, u know cos of the world cup n all.

Speaking of which a snippet of "Autobahn" was played when moving between games involving the Norweigian and Swedish national teams on football focus at about 12:30 today.
Alex the Red told me to post that he'd heard New Order in Sainsbury's. Can't remember which song or which Sainsbury's but i've said it (i'm crap on details).
So there.
