New Order Spotting

There was a thing on Channel 4 about Wearside Jack, the Yorkshire Ripper hoaxer. A large bit of Incubation was used for the scene where Sutcliffe is caught with a prostitute in his car and false number plates - the event that subsequently led to his conviction as The Ripper.

So, I heard BLT (12 inch version) on Cool fm 107.5 in Barrie. Strange, 12 inch version. But It was cool that they do that.

more blt: a godawful cover version of some emo-girl with only an acoustic guitar I heard on Phil Jupitus this morning.. oh well, he promised they'd play the original later on to make up for it ;) Hope I didn't miss that.

Heard 60 Miles an Hour coming out of a shop in a shopping centre. Of course I went in there pretending to look at things so I could listen to it

About a week ago, I heard a New Order song blasting on the PA system in Wal-Mart as the store was closing for the night.

Go figure.

I dreamt I heard a remix of BLT being played loudly as I walked through campus.

OMG - I can't believe I heard 60 miles and hour twice in one weekend - it was on just before as a promo for channel ten's sports tonight.

Only for like 10 minutes...

I played Transmission and Sister Ray as part of an acoustic set in the pub last night.

I really didn't have a choice because nearing midnight, I needed to buy some packing tape for shipping something the next morning and there were no nearby Walgreens, so Wal-mart was my only option.

And yes, there is a Wal-mart that closes in California... it's on the 101. Go figure!

At least someone had the decency to play NO while I was in the Wal-mart...

PS -- Boy, I must really love NO if I will confess that I slipped and shopped at Wal-mart at one time on this forum....

Went to a football shop in town yesterday to inquire about a job. I was in there less than a minute (the fella there was a bit of a dick who didn't give me a chance) but I know he was watching golf on the telly over which Hey Know... was playing. As I tried to hide my disappoint I was also thinking 'Oh that's New Order'

Quite surprised Cambo didn't post about that one first(unless the screening schedules for Dr Who are different in NI). BTW can ye remember what the episode was called for my future reference?? Atmosphere - on a program last night on either BBC or C4 about the Athena poster guy (L'Enfant). The poster with the hunky guy holding the baby... Turns out, he's a dickhead (the hunky guy, not the baby) but at least the music was good.

Getting Away with it followed directly by True Faith Radio 2 yesterday afternoon; and then this morning Getting Away with it again.........on R2......unbelievable. Still, gives James Blunt a rest.

There's something sounding suspiciously New Order-like running on the current ads for FilmFour on Channel 4. Anyone know what it is?

Oldham's 96.2 The Revolution played "Temptation" this afternoon. DJ was Martin Coogan, lead singer of the Mock Turtles and Steve Coogan sibling.

I've mentioned The Revolution before. For those in Greater Manchester it is an absolute must. DJs include Mani, Smug Roberts and Mike Joyce and they play absolutely anything inc. an awful lot of NO. It is what Key 1-0-shite should be.

Not been on NOOL for a couple of months. Glad to see everybody'd still doing the do.

what a player Zizou . at the end of April announced that he will be retiring after the Cup. I had no idea The Rev was a local channel, i'll try it. Apparently XFM is good for The Smiths and New Order too.
