Singles Postcards

I was going to try and win an eBay auction that had the Singles postcards but it didn't go as well as I had planned. I was quite surprised by the final selling price of $119 US. WOW!! eek:

I really wanted to get my hands on those so I could scan them and use them for my CDRs of all the singles I have transfered from vinyl.

If anyone has the postcards and is willing to scan them perhaps we can make arrangements.

Who know's, maybe I will find the postcards myself for a heck of a lot less than $119

Anyone know how many of these were printed?

i have this set (paid 55 pounds for it) and can make you scans if you like

ok, i should be getting these in a week or two..

but for now, i've created a photo set (images from new order discography, neworderonline, and worldinmotiondotnet)

i'm not sure if they're all the right images or not..should be close.. (except the last one)..

a few observations:

for ceremony, they used the green cover..

for everythings gone green, they used the EP image...

for temptation, they used the 7" image

for procession, i think they used the black cover?

for the blue monday (original), i think it's all black, with no silver

for round and round, they used the remix cover image

for spooky, they used the limited edition cover..

note: not all singles correspond to the tracks from the album (1963 uses the newer cover), turn has no cover. blue monday 95 is represented but is not on the cd..

someone mentioned the promo poster for singles..

while this has most of the images it has more...including albums, and a few strange promos.. (tutti frutti)..

did they pull the images from this site or the discography one? some are pretty ragged (see 'thieves like us')..

they also added: true faith 94 spooky (first cover) ceremony (blue and white cover) murder 12" cover temptation 12" cover 1963 boxed set cover round and round (original cover)

They used Niagara, FAC53 has the same grease mark near the middle and bends in the bottom corner, lazy!

does anyone know how many postcards were made for the exhibit..

also, i've noticed prices are dropping for the cards (since mine weren't signed), i paid UKP30...

You could just scan them from Vinyl. If your scanners not large enough there are places with scanners that a large wnough. OR theres google image search, I can usually find large enough artwork on there.

Theres nothing wrong with that but it is a joke when London Records (or whoever produced these) resorts to downloading images of battered record covers scanned by amateurs on a Mustek 1200 or whatever, especially when we all know someone who claims to have mint copies of everything, hell my collection is in better condition than that shown at the Saville exhibition!!

all the pictures are in really good condition..

i think it was just something they could put together quickly..

that's why i'll probably redo them for myself..

I might try scanning some of my vinyl as well. Its too bad they didn't do a very good job on the postcards. Glad I saved my money!

CLAIMS-how VERY dare YOU? Dusters at DAWN mate! Actually the odd ONE may show signs of AGE before i bought them.But i agree with the SAVILLE exhibition comment.Indeed i asked where the GOOD covers had gone!

There's unlikely to be Perfect copies of many of the older covers knocking about but if you can airbrush the cellulite off Jade Goodie, you can remove the grease and the creases from a record cover.

ok,

i got my set of postcards, one thing i noticed is that they are printed on glossy paper..

i must have gotten a different promo set (or an earlier one) that was just printed on regular non glossy cardboard..

i'll have to re-scan some of the images, as they are different from the ones i posted..

The pictures were taken from Niagara. If you just want to make sleeves then save yourself the bother of buying and scanning and just print them out.
