Can't the fucker talk ! Verbal diarrhoea ! Cost me a Joe McBride as well, but the plus side was that I met Jarvo and Johnny G (top lads the pair of 'em). ShugZV, Cheeky Monkey and Dave Hibell, your books are safe and sound at Sloppy Towers.

Bored sh*tless for a good hour an' half - Zinedine's date even fuct off, she was soooo bored! The book reads quite flatly, and Wilson made it sound even flatter - but meet the man close up and he's dead personable and very likeable. Asked him a couple of questions about Simon Topping and then ACR, and got a NewOrder'ish dedication on the book to boot (see below)..

Last question from the audience was "What do you think of New Order in 2002?" and Tony seemed a bit down on the subject and basically said, "Well, why should they give up their day jobs?" (he repeated the same quote about ACR when we were actually getting stuff signed).

Where's the CAPS LOCK gone, Paul?

Reading something from his book he made a comment, something like the world's greatest vocalist Simon Topping retreating from his vocal duties, and the world's greatest guitarist Vini Reilly taking on more vocal duties within Durutti Column, hoping that everyone could see the irony there.

Asked him afterwards whatever happened to Topping and he said it's in the book. Asked him what he thought about their comeback and he said the same thing as he did about the Order - well, why should they have to give up their dayjobs? Can't remember the exact context but I'd said something about them going all Level 42'ish and he said he also slag off those who 'slap the bass' (and did a Mark King mime), again in the book.

Seems souljazz are re-releasing a lot of early ACR stuff on another compilation called 'Early'. Includes their Peel Sessions too, which should be good.
