Can't wait now ! All we need is The Fall as well, and I will be in my element :)
you folks are soooo lucky...they still have a few more bands to announce, right...maybe it i'll be an 80's concert revival of sorts
I have some further info on this....I was reading '7' dance music weekly earlier today, and theres an excellent interview with the Hookster..basically he said NO were trying to turn June 9th into a Manchester thing and they already had The Doves on board, and were very hopeful of getting Badly Drawn Boy as well. How fucking good news is that?
Anyway, in the interview, he also calls Johnny Marr and Morrisey a couple of Prats, which amused me.
The mag also, gave Here to Stay single of the Week, and (A.Jarvis'll be happy) A Certain Ratio album of the week. Well worth searching the mag out and having a read.
DID ANYONE CATCH ANY GIGS WHEN NEW ORDER AND THE BUNNYMEN TOURED STATESIDE...I REMEMBER READING SOME FANTASTIC REVIEWS OF A COUPLE OF THE SHOWS...APPARANTLY THEY USED TO ALTERNATE WHO WENT ON FIRST/LAST EVERY NIGHT..

Got several tapes - the Bunnymen had got two distinct sets - the support set that lasted an hour, and the greatest hits set for headline nights. New Order either did an hour/11 songs when they came on first, or 13/14 songs including encore when they headlined. Basically the only difference to the NO sets was the lack of encore when they supported. Some great sets though !

Hopefully including Dexy's Midnight Runners, the second best band of the eighties! ![]()

Rumours that David Ginola would be compere were quickly dispelled by a source close to the band, who stated that he wasn't worth it. Moyes the pity eh ?

Yes. several times. Darien Lakes being the best one (Ostrich and Run Run Run). I run the Official WCFC site. Belper were a bit unlucky at Christchurch Meadow, but got what they deserved in the replay. Yes, I was one of the 1200 we brought.
Wow - that's a good line up! The Bunnymen too (shame it's not the original line up, sniff sniff...)
Now...if only Leatherface would reform and miraculously find themselves asked to open the entire day....I would have died and gone to heaven.... ![]()
