I live less than 1 mile from Lancashire Cricket Ground its based in Stretford/Old Trafford, Manchester. Last year they held 3 Robbie Williams outdoor gigs to great success and this year as part of the NME's birthday celebrations there will be 3 all day gigs from July 11 to July 13. Tickets for July 11 and 12 went on salke Saturday 16/3/2002, the likes of Paul Weller, Green Day and Ian Brown will be appearing with more to be confirmed, however tickets for day 3 (July 13 2002) will not be on sale until AFTER April 2 2002, on that day will be announced the bands for the last day, the rumour is that New Order MAY be headlining, but it is only a rumour, I have contacts at Lancashire Cricket ground, I will try and find out. There is a rumour that Oasis and the Charlatans may turn up, which makes the ticket price of £28.50 seem a bargain, I'll be there.

Heard from a v.reliable source last night that this one WILL indeed feature the Order.

the ceremony list quoted an interview with peter hook from a magazine called seven in which he said that fins-berry would be the only uk appearance this year...
hopefully that's just him messin around, maybe it wasn't confirmed when they ran the interview, maybe it's true & your source is wrong Al.
hopefully it's one of the 1st two options....
When is it? Probably safest not to tell me as i don't think i could handle the charlies and the order on the same bill!
