When is the next album coming out?

The next one should be the "Control" soundtrack IMHO.
I should remove the entry in the discography now that it's pretty sure it won't happen.
I reckon control will be out early next year and the OST with it with JD "covers", then in 2008 we'll get the next NO album proper.
Really looking forward to an LP of NO JD "covers"!

Don't say that. They may release it in the end of summer or in the autumn. Otherwise why are they going to paly live "so much" this year?
I'm hoping this year they release a 'new' album.. I mean, the track's are all done and recorded aren't they? 2008 seems way too late for these tunes to come out. The band'll probably feel that the songs are 'old' by then wouldn't they?
The Control soundtrack (to be recorded I'm assuming) certainly puts things into decision making mode for them.. To release the NO stuff before, or after that? What would make more sense financially?

I'm not sure it's been confirmed that there will be JD "covers" on the Control soundtrack. The articles I read said they were providing music for the soundtrack. I'd imagine that the original Joy Division songs will feature in the movie and soundtrack, and New Order will provide mostly instrumental incidental music...
Why would New Order make new versions, when the movie is about Ian Curtis?
As for new album, they said they had 7 tracks ready for it... So, a long way to go until they have enough for a full album's worth. I'd be surprised if we saw anything before late 2007...

The original plan was to get the new album out this year, whilst Control won't be out till next year. I'm hoping the new gigs will showcase some of the unreleased stuff. Otherwise remember this is a FORUM so basically your guess is as good as mine.
Given their staggering output the last 10 years, I would conservativly guess...
20NE - Two thousand never
Whenever the distributors get their shipment of wax cylinders in. Alternatively, there's always a tin record pressing method, though the sound has much to live up for.![]()
(Ahem, mind you, I really am looking forward to anything they put out. I'd deal with a tin record if there were no other means.)
Well if they don't hold up releases forever and a day they usually let Peter Saville do that with the sleeve art concept!!!!

Nope, just backing tracks, and (as far as I'm aware), they haven't returned to the studio to finish them off (especially as Hooky's been on his DJ tour)...

a) they haven't done any work on finishing off the remainder of the songs
b) there's hardly a huge amount of gigs, compared to last year, is there?
