Oh come on ! We're New Order fans, and with that comes the knowledge that the charts are a load of shit, that the band will always be underappreciated by the Idle Pap buying shitehead fucking kid out there on the street who encourages c...s like Gareth Gates to co-co-co-co-cover old crap. It doesn't really matter when the Chems release their latest offering, as in many cases people wil buy both. We'reonly talking four quid here after all. As if either will get to number one ?! ![]()

Zloppy, I really don't care about the charts, especially since I'm here in the States. I guess my rationale is that if the single gets good support and sells well in the U.K. then that increases our chances of getting it (and maybe some concerts not on the West Coast). Maybe if NO sold well then they would put more effort into touring, promoting, etc.

er...that really doesn't make much sense. how is it possible for them to sell well when they aren't getting promoted properly? and why would they tour to people who are indifferent because they haven't heard their music because the band's label isn't promoting them properly?
while i don't think it's some sort of conspiracy, it is definitely a fact that as sad as it is, the propaganda machines known as record companies really can turn shit into gold...even if it's only temporary. and often overlook good things in the process...and while many of us here might be the kind who go out and search for good things on our own (largely without the help of the propaganda machines), most of the rest of the world doesn't.
which sucks, a lot. i know. but your argument doesn't work. whether or not the single sells well in the UK would in fact affect the charts, which would make you care about them...and it also likely wouldn't make a bit of difference regarding widespread airplay and/or release here. hell, we aren't even getting the movie for it to be tied into!
i wish we'd get some showdates too...but i don't think that this single is going to make a lick of difference one way or the other. :(
(in a better world though, perhaps i'll be wrong...)
