Another May 18th today and a moment for Ian Curtis. I remember last year. The BBC broadcast almost an entire Joy Division concert and in downtown Manchester, Joy Division film fotage was shown. A very excellent tribute to them and Mr. Curtis that year. I was in Germany at the time. Europe is great to visit for Joy Division sites. I really enjoyed visiting the Kant Kino in Berlin. That is the "Kant Street Cinema" translated from German and ..my favorite Joy Division song..Komakino! Special place. Went through "Manchester" in Northern California this year...a tiny town in the romote coastal woods..but a beautiful region. This year things seem to be a little more quiet except for a volcanic erruption in Indonesia this May 18th. If anyone remembers that Mt. Saint Helens in America errupted on May 18th, 1980, the day Ian Died. He was a firey mountian he was. We still love our Joy Division mate. Here's to you. Would still love to hear the REST of the concert "At A Later Date" from which Electric Circus was taken from for those super- into-it Joy Division fans like me. But, hey...that would be cool eh? And A DVD of ALL "digitally cleaned-up" film and video fotage of Joy Division! Also...thank you New Order for continuing to play. You guys are great and we still love you more and more. I'm trying to get my friends to put down their copies of Substance and start cranking up "Brutal" and "Here To Stay". Man..you guys REALLY rock!
