???

On the anniversary of Ian's death I read on the internet that Joy Division was described as a dirge band and also a goth band.

some people seem to care too much about having to push JD into a genre or pin a tag on them.

i just listen to them

Why Do we all feel the need to label and pigeon hole everything?

JD isn't a goth band,of course! what a strange idea. Goth bands were just pale imitations of a style that JD once created. But can we tell, really, JD created a rock musical style ? I don't know. JD seemed to come from nowhere and JD music stopped suddenly. There's no other band like them. Anyway Goth bands always made me smile. "des comiques" , non ?

did u ever see ian wear vampire teeth?

goth's are actors, it is all about theater. catharsis

goth's just grab him as a poster boy because of their feigned empathy to death/suicide.

Goths tend to listen to alot of bands. I know about 5 who love Rush. Rush is hardly a goth band. So.. case closed.

I'm backing Minx's point: First, there is a thread if New Order is a gay band, now this? Can someone post something interesting?
