The trick with mail order companies is to play dumb and see if they are dumber. Just stick in the BT postcode and UK. Leave the Ni bit out cos not everyone in the other places always writes their country. Works a treat sometimes...particularly with those bastards who just stick a flat £30-50 paddy tax on everything...including I might add....a single stick of ram that came in an envelope LOL.
Even the Waterfront Hall would be a good venue for them to play. Great acoustics and doesn't stink of Stella.

You really are clueless arent you? Speaking as someone who has actually been there, and seen New order, The Waterfront Hall would be the worst venue in the world for them to play. We've actually had this discussion before.

£32.50 a ticket by the looks of things. Call that £40 after booking fee and postage. Robbing bastards.

Saying that, its still a few quid cheaper than last years dates. Not much mind. And the same price as Morrissey tickets.

Never seems to work online - they must do it using the postcode. And I can't leave the postcode off for 2 reasons - it'll fail the credit card address check and there is another street in Belfast with the same name as mine - no postcode means the deliveries go to the other one.
30 quid I was quoted for a TFT monitor the other day. Considering I'm about to ship my 18-20kg bass combo amp back to England for less than that, there's a bit of highway robbery going on somewhere.

Don't get too carried away. If there's as many as six dates I will be astounded! The usual towns will get their show, i.e. London, Manchester and Glasgow (probably) and we already know about Wolverhampton.

To re-phrase, I don't know the full details of the tour. But I do not think there's a Manc date amongst the venues they're playing.

I agree, it would be nice if they came back to the states and did a tour. I just hope that if that does happen, that they would make stops in other areas besides the west coast and the north east. Would like to not have to drive 8+ hours to see them concert.

Close, but it's a warm-up for a big US tour with Rochester, NY as the only gig! OK, maybe not. I've come to grips with the fact that I'll most likely never see New Order live. But since they seem to like the smaller venues, we have plenty of those in Rochester. I'm sure the Water Street Music Hall would be available.
New Order confirm UK tour The Mancs to play big autumn shows New Order have announced a new UK tour for this autumn.
The Manchester legends will head out for a series of big shows this October.
They play:
Newcastle Academy (October 11) Blackpool Empress Ballroom (16) Glasgow Academy (18) London Wembley Arena (27) Wolverhampton Civic Hall (29)
Tickets for the gigs go on sale at 9am on on May 26.
For ticket availability go to NME.COM/Gigs.
Meanwhile New Order will release a live DVD, taken from 2005 concerts in New York and London, on June 19.

FFS, there's quite a few of us around who'd kill to drive for eight hours to see NO live!
I don't get these sorts of posts. They're an _English_ band and they don't like to travel much anymore. You need to be prepared to make an effort if you're overseas. If they tour your country, assume it'll be the last time and buy the internal airfare or make a weekend of it in the car.
Make haystacks while the morning sun shines - or something.

Going to do all of them as well...
London - no problems (live near there, no time off, no hotels)
Wolverhampton - some of my work is based in Telford, so can charge back hotel and travel to work :)
Glasgow - RyanAir have very cheap fares for the date announced - half day off on Wednesday afternoon, and *might* not need half day off on Thursday morning (depends whether I can be arsed to get an extremely early flight in the morning!)
Newcastle - EasyJet flight - same scenario as above
Blackpool - bit more complex, although *could* combine that into a work scenario - i.e. travel back to Telford in the morning!

Trust me, I understand that they don't tour as much and if I still lived in Southern California, then an 8 hour drive would not bother me and I would do it in a heart beat.
Living where I live now, makes it a lot harder to travel anywhere due to how poorly the roads are designed. A two hour drive in So Cal, will take close to 4 hours out here. It is also harder for me to find someone to babysit my two indoor dogs out here, so I just can't go make a weekend out of it. I wish I could, just can't right now.

Glasgow looks most likely for me, flights are only £36 return. Quite liked the Carling Academy as a venue when I went to see Morrissey in Glasgow. Would have liked to have made it for the Newcastle one but its on the same night as Northern Ireland vs Latvia.

At this point, I'll use all I can to get on the guest list.. can't afford to buy tickets this week, I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks and a half :(
Since it's seated (and probably reserved), it's my only hope to have anything better than back rows ;) though I would probably have no problem to have a photo pass, but still.
I can also do Glasgow/Blackpool, since they are the only other pair of dates that could fit in a week, but somehow, I think doing London is a good thing. (Plus you know how I like those big venues right? )
BTW, Tim, if you read this... there is a nice huge slot opened to make NOOL Day on October 28 :p

chance would be that it would get organised and then new order fill that blank spot. but I'm sure between us we can think of somewhere. off the top of my head - my favourite smyths gig this year was at bloomsbury bowl. music, bowling, hen parties ... it had the holy trinity!
Will be going to the London one. Wonder if they will release 'Turn' as a single in October to promote the tour?

I understand a few second dates might be added, but this seems so spread out it doesn't make economic sense, and thinking back to a conversation I had with a well known lambchopped face after Ally Pally I thought economics were high on the band's agenda these days?

Twice at least before in Blackpool. Scamps in 1980 and also in 1982, can't remember the 82 venue name.

Blackpool has an International Airport and is expanding it's routes significantly in the coming months. It's approximately 50 miles from Liverpool and depending on whether or not you get a direct train, it's between 1hr 31mins and 2hrs 29mins by rail.
Gotta try and get tickets for wolves, gigs keep cropping up that I wanna go to, crippling me financially, but its new order, maybe I can get my mate whos also a huge fan to buy me my ticket for my birthday as its in october!

i just did a quick scout and 1: the wembley site has no mention of this at all, and comes up blank on a search and 2: none of the ticket sites i checked (see, wayahead, ticketmaster etc) had london listed, only the blackpool and wolves dates. which isn't entirely helpful...
although i would hope that i'd be going to wolves as well, because i too hate wembley, but it does have the advantage of being nearer home....

Newcastle's Carling Academy is a top venue - and it's a nice size - not too big - perfect size for NO!!
The Forth's a real nice boozer about 2 mins from the venue - further up Westgate Road is Tilleys - again, good quality pub.
And there's a Burger King directly opposite the venue to soak up the booze.
Can't wait.

I don't know why New Order always pick midweek dates. The Apollo was on a Monday, school nights are shite. They'd get a better response on a weekend cos people are doubly p*ssed.
I'm alright, they're really flexible with hols where i work but there must be loads of people on here, like you, who struggle for mid week gigs.

Newcastle International Airport is serviced by the Tyne and Wear Metro - takes about 20 mins to get into the centre of Newcastle - dead easy. The nearest Metro station is Central - and from there it's about 5 mins walk. The centre of Newcastle is really compact and very easy to get around quickly. Lots and lots of hotels in that specific area, and to reiterate, a large quota of what I'd call classy boozers.
Presumably Liverpool and the Spanish dates will give us an insight as to what the setlists will be like for this new mini-tour? The odds of new stuff featuring seems slim unless they've been feeding misinformation to the rumour mill and working like bastards on the WFTSC leftover material (in secret).
I know it'll probably be the usual greatest hits setlist but if they could chuck in a Low-life or Technique track I'm sure many of us would be chuffed. Won't stop me enjoying the gigs of course but they could make the effort and dust off a few songs we haven't heard for a while rather than sticking to the same old compilation tracks.
Oh and as has already been said, less JD and more NO please!

Its handy for me. Theres a mantra at work. The parents get school holidays off, no questions asked, Liam gets gigs and festivals off, no questions asked. They know if i didnt get the holiday i'd just ring in sick anyway.

surely you mean the worst venue anyone's ever played? wembley is like a giant aircraft hangar and with about as much atmosphere. even after its overhaul, where it's tried to go all funky, it's just the same.
the only group i've ever seen give wembley arena atmosphere was (believe it or not) take that. but that's because they're a cheesy pop band who play these hangars regularly and know how to fill them with a bloody good show. i'm afraid that "real" bands have a much harder job because it's hard to focus on just music in those places.

I can see Bernard retreating into the studio for good like he did in Electronic. I think he wants to make music, release it, and do the things he likes doing in his spare time, rather than go gigging.
Steve will probably go back to writing soundtracks with Gillian, spending time with his children/tank.
Hooky will always be out and about doing something, somewhere. He lives for gigging I think.

i went to see doves at blackpool empress couple of years ago.was straight from works xmas party so i was pissed but i dont recall any seats at all in there..inside winter gardens,good venue really

i just got 3 tickets for glasgow but they would only let me book 2 on my credit card, i then had to phone up again and buy a third on my debit card. i used the ticket scotland phone line.and yes down stairs in the academy is much better.

Was there a price difference? I'm only half awake but I'm pretty sure it just said Standing for me, could be wrong. Just checked my email confirmation there and it does just simply read "section: STAND".
I was at the Academy a couple of weeks ago for the Morrissey gig and there are only really two sections: Standing and the Balcony (seating). I could see how there might be two types of standing as about halfway back from the stage the floor is elevated with a railing and stairs, near the bar.
You could freely move about though, no restrictions.
Should be fine.

Ticketmaster put it up on their site yesterday, but took it down again pretty soon as they had jumped the gun. It probably will be happening, on 19th October, but won't be advertised until this one has sold out or is seen to be popular, I'd guess.

I'd be surprised if they make a distinction between upper and lower and be even more surprised if they try to enforce it. They'd have to position stewards all along the railing area checking everyone's ticket going in or out for the entire gig.

I am not happy Logged into Ticketmaster at 9 to buy 4 tickets for Glasgow. Got in the queue okay but then ran into problems as the card stored in my ticketmaster account is old. Tried to update. Got caught in a loop. By the time I decided to start again (09:05) - all tickets gone.
Anybody know when they are likely to advertise the extra dates?

Sold out most likely. From what I understand there's loads of seating in Wemberley but standing room is at a premium. A fair chunk of the standing probably went via the Gigsandtours.com link everybody on here booked through yesterday as well.
Could try other links as Nick has suggested! Ticketmaster's system can be really unreliable.

Another case of not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery 
But I guess it meant most on here got in before the tosser touts and there were still some available for an hour this morning.
Got the most important ones, Wolves, Blackpool and Wembly Standing.
Not sure I can make Newcastle but managed to grab a Seated one after Ticketbastard said it was sold out.
Not sure about Glasgow either but got an Upper Standing, again after it showing sold out.

I am sooo glad I did some overtime the other week! It paid for Athens and is also helping with these tickets now. Hate to think what hotels etc will cost though! Flights to Glasgow seem reasonable, I think I'm gonna work on the basis that there won't be a third night at Glasgow, and snare the hotel and flights now.

Just looked at the Wembley website, and it looks like the venue can be changed to a short hall venue which holds 4000 people. The maximum capacity is 12750.

yeah - i know the date and locations - have done for a long time as i'm connected in Mancs - but it doesn't do me any bloody good as i live in California - Barney come back one more time!!!!!!!!!!!
They did last year, this year it's UK's time.
So you would have to wait for another album to even consider them to tour in North America.
South America might be a possibility for later this year apparently, they didn't go there for 15 years at least.
