Well since you didn't give a date, I will guess it's going to be released with Turn. :skeptic:

Is New Order going to release a new live DVD every since time they tour for a new album?

Doesn't this drive you nuts? Aren't you pissed off with it all??!!

Why can't we just have a press release telling us what we have come to accept as the norm:

"This is coming out, in several formats, it's gonna cost you a bundle, start saving now but be prepared for disappointment, and by the way it's scheduled for November but we're not saying which year...."

Hang on, I have one in front of me.

"Available from November, a 12"/cd/dvd/limited edition [insert remix/reissue available from at least a dozen other souces]/enhanced and/or remastered hologram disc with HD picture quality plus previously unavailable material/in a specially commissioned sleeve/box/download and yada yada yada"

Hey, why don't we all sign a document to the effect that: "We agree to give you lots of dosh (quaint British expression) for whatever you deem appropriate to release regardless of quality, cost or delay, in perpetuity" and make it official that "We wish to be shafted by NO's label, whoever they may be, till the end of time or whenever Turn is released, whichever is later."

Is not even gonna be released on DVD, is it? Betamax, that's what it is. They are locating the last surviving Betamax equipment to show this thing out properly. :evil4:

ah, bollocks.

I was going to wait and buy the DVD since I missed the TV Broadcast.

Can anyone send me a shiny DVD-recorded-off-the-TV in the interim? Please.

In fairness, two of the WORST gigs from last year. One performed in front of the most lifeless audience, and one performed without an autocue!

We've already seen both of them on TV.

And the setlists are virtually identical.

So really, what's there to be bothered about?

And I still haven't bothered to watch either Hyde Park or Hammerstein! Or listen to the audio recordings!

Do you think they intentionally try to piss people off...one wonderss sometimes.

BAH! HUMBUG!

NEXT YEAR!?

:explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode:

I was really looking forward to The Hyde Park DVD...

A/ Because I was up the front with wifey.

B/ Because the lack of autocue turned it into a New Order version of a 'Carry On...' film.

AUTOCUE? WTF!! THESE ARE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS WITH NEARLY 30 YEARS EXPERTISE. IF THEY CAN'T REMEMBER NURSERY RHYMING LYRICS THEN THERES REALLY NO HOPE. :banghead: :nono: :nono:

no hope for WHAT?

Hm, maybe it's for the good. I honestly don't think these shows would be of any spectacular brilliance for they are not even distinguished from each other and we've got half of the performed songs already from 98 and 02.

I'd better second the idea of making live CD-Rs straight off a show and distributing it among attendants.

maybe they have had a rethink of what gigs they will put on the discs?

maybe they will film Liverpool or some other summer gigs that might have a diffrent set list ,new songs?

Is the postponment a worldwide thing? To be honest,i recorded the New York one off TV and didnt think too much of it.

I`d rather have PFD or Academy-pref both on one disc.

Maybe they'll film and include one of this years' shows instead of using two similar ones from last year.

It's all part of the fun! The constant 'will-they-release-whatever-and-if-so-when?' thing against the daft showing of gig footage on free-to-air telly some six weeks or whatever before it comes out on DVD.

Yes, they are continuing with their long-held-and-practiced perverse believes. New Order believe in not releasing product when they say they might as a kind-of restraint and a desire to breed 'hunger' in their following. It's the same idea Alf Ramsey had when training the '66 England squad as he insisted they train without footballs so that when they ran out for a match they'd be hungry for it! It's a load of old toss of course and it's more likely London have no real idea what the band want to do and the band like to piss London around a bit. Unfortunately it breeds confusion and irritation amongst us lot.

Can someone PLEASE tell us what's going on? Either the New York/Hyde Park DVD is released in three weeks' time or it's not!

I never bought 511 - I rented and found it unspectacular. If they'd left Gill dancing about to WIM I would have bought it for sure - but they cut out all the good banter and stuff.

On that point, wasn't WIM cut from 316 cos Barney didnt think it was good enough? Would he really let them release a show where he couldnt remember any words?

I thought the selection of those two shows was carppy anyways. I'd like something similar to 316 - an old show and a new show. Maybe PFD, cos I've never seen that, or that last gig from 93:ignore: or something like that. Then a new one, a decent one, with an autocue, where the band sound like a band wit a singer who can remember the words. Otherwise you watch it by yourslef cos it's embarassing. I'm hesitant to put NO DVDs on when people are over cos the laugh at Bs dancing, so if hes dancing and forgetting words he shall stay on the shelf. If I even buy it.

Maybe they'll film the same festival (Barcelona and Madrid) the current year. Perhaps. I remember the great gig in Barcelona last year!!! It was f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!!! And why not recording the gig this year??? I'd meet us to have some beers before the July 15th gig!!!

There's no point expecting the majors to come up with the goods 'cause they don't give a fuck. That's how they got to be majors in the first place. This year's typical. That 12 12" fiasco, the 'Best of Electronic' and 'Turn' fuckups... Stick to more intimate sources like Shug's DVDs, Community, the forthcoming Shadowplayers DVDs.
