IF A NEW ALBUM COMES OUT, THEN WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT TWO SONGS WHICH ARE IN IT

"SUGARCANE" AND "STAY WITH ME" WHICH PETER HOOK AND BERNARD SUMNER HAD PREVIOUSLY TALKED ABOUT.

And your point is what?

Is he Li-n-us?

Would that be 2 song TITLES? Or 2 DEMOS you've heard Linus?

it will be when the polar ice caps melt, the varying ethnicities of the world morph into one race, and recorded music only available in a digital format. No hard copy CD or vinyl. Blue tooth technology will rule the day.

Seriously folks, whatever happened to the Barney boast a few months after the WFTSC release, "we already have enough songs recored for another album" ?

NO falsely raised the expectation on (perhaps and wishfully) a lot better album soon with songs that screamed and fought the fight from the soul to see the light of day rather than the depth-free and tiresome "we be rockers now" fodder ushered up on WFTSC. All the good songs HAVE been released as singles. I'd rather have been strung along with these over 18 months than have an album that feels worn and familiar after half a dozen plays. Their aim for mediocrity was spot on. They hit their target. I teeter on the brink of abandonment as a longtime fan.

At the supermarket yesterday, Thieves Like Us was surprisingly being piped in over the PA system, and this is food-market that is shopped mostly by hispanics and latinos, with the odd alt-lifestyle whites, some students, and a few blacks in south Austin, TX. Weird - TLU is a song that had great potential except for the fragile vocals and off key metering. They were young and their sincerity genuine. The opening rifts sounded so painfully hopeful. Maybe I shouldn't be hasty in my assessment.

Maybe Barney is in Quality Control mode, and the band cranks out the 21st century equivalent of Technique or Low Life :shades: If we have to wait a few more months for more meticulously crafted songs such as GIAUE instead of piss-poor jam band wankery like Werking Overtyme, then I say we can be patient. :read:

Maybe they've kept all the good songs for this album, so that it ammazes the general public into buying load s of copies and going straight to no.1. That's what I hope anyway.

Oh and "linus sulanki" we have something amazing called punctuation. Oh and try to not use Caps Lock, makes you sound like a shouting moron.

EDIT Sorry I am an idiot, you did use punctuation.

There seems to be some doubt as to IF a new album is coming out. Does it help If I mention that last Fridays Metro newspaper (The free one in major Uk cities) mentioned that tix were on sale for the October gigs, at which NO would be "pounding out new songs from the album due in July" ? I haven't been on the forums for a while. Is this a major update on what's happening with the album or old news? Do I get a gold star or summat?

This pisses me off. I added my two penneth to this site a few months back, arguing that WFTSC was utter shite. I was shouted down at the time. And now a consensus seems to be emerging... the last album was crap after all. Cunts.

How to win friends and influence people!

Most people agreed that some parts of it were crap. I don't think anyone thinks it was all crap.

We're just slow on the uptake...

WFTSC was smashing super great!

Not sure that Hooky was overenamoured with the result...

The worrying thing to me is that interview in the Far East where Hooky said that he fell out with Barney again and that they hoped to reconcile soon...

They are obviously playing live together, so the situation can't be too serious, but maybe their studio relationship has become fractured again?

Something is delaying things as Hooky is certainly busying himself with his DJing and side project work...

Meanwhile, what is Barney up to?

Hopefully he's twiddling the nobs and writing the lyrics for the new LP at Barney's ville central???

Either way, I would fall off my chair if we see the new LP before 2008.
