Definitive Top 10 Side Project Songs

I had this thread on the Music For Pleasure forum, and someone suggested I move it here, since this forum is much more frequented. So, here it is again! If you've already voted on this in the Music For Pleasure forum, then please don't vote again. The rest of you, put on your thinking caps and get to it!

OK, on the Absolute Favorite Side Project Song thread, it seems like a lot of people had trouble narrowing it down to just one song. So why not steal a good idea from the Digital Republic forum and have a top ten poll? Same rules, with 10 points for #1 and one point for #10.

Never really liked the other two. Monaco / Revenge were OK but nothing special,

Electronic were the best of the side projects:

3. tighten up

Had not much trouble getting 10.I probably like 15-20 side project songs quite alot meself.. No Temptations in there,but that's not really fair....They have done some good tunes between them if you add em all up...

Nice list. I could have easily made my entire list Electronic too but I put some Other 2 & Monaco on, giving them the benefit of the doubt wherever I had a tough time choosing between them and an Electronic song.

Off the top (or bottom) of me head...in no particular order

Yeah, I think they could do a side project box set. :) I could imagine 30 songs or so, with probably half of them being Electronic.

Which would be twice as many people as actually buy it!

Unless they follow the old trick of so many other bands and release one new song on it that you can't get anywhere else.

The Electronic stuff really does it for me,there are some very good monaco tracks and altho gillian has a really nice voice the o2 aren't really my bag man.

Only one song I really like, and in this case really love:

Never bothered to listen to any of the Electronic or Revenge songs again, after hearing them once. TO2 are nice, but nothing I really need. Would have to dig really deep in my collection to find any side project CD apart from the two Monaco's...

Dont know about the top 10, but I know the top 1, and thats Monaco's "What Do You Want From Me". An absolute classic.

It's good to see that so many people like Revenge's "Big Bang" - IMHO, it's the best thing Hooky did outside of New Order and Joy Division.

For me though, the best side project song is still Electronic's "Get The Message." I remember playing that to death when it was released.

Yeah, Electronic's first album had by far the most total points (406.5) with Music for Pleasure second (247.5).
Electronic had by far the most points as a group (717) followed by the Other Two (361), Monaco (316) and Revenge (226).

Maybe NO should swap side project partners? Hooky & Johnnie Marr, anyone?
