Your suggestions for Warner/London

It looks like almost all most outspoken wishes have been finally performed. I remember there were even some petitions, and one way or another but they eventually proved fruitful:

1. We've got BBC sessions from 1998 and 2001;
2. A complete video anthology on DVD (along with NOStory);
3. A CD collection of 7" versions (even though some are "fake" edits).

Now what new projects would you suggest?

I would like to see another DVD release. It could be a proper release of two old concerts, or a lengthy collection of various TV performances from 1981 (incl. Celebration!, BBC '84, TOTPs) to recent ones.

All I really want is the new Joy Division dvd to finally come out, but if they're still digging up new things to put on it, then they can take their time because I want it all.

Oh, and PFD and Academy on DVD together would be nice.

Just remaster the albums please!!! (maybe a few extra tracks/mixes)

A CD release of rarities, B sides, etc.

And perhaps more importantly, no fcuk ups on any rereleases, etc. they do...

Yeah,i think the remastered albums would be a good idea. Double disc`s with the second disc having the likes of The Happy One,MTO and Run 2 for Technique.

Other than that i think we`ve had quite a few "wish lists" answered in the best 5 years. Last thing i want? Another Best Of.

Anything that hasn't been released on CD already, especially promo only remixes that we've all paid way to much for on Ebay.

I'd love to hear any unreleased stuff from the Technique era.

Why is Bernard so ashamed of his past? He seems embarrassed of the Factory years when the band was a truely unique and creative band, but seems proud of his 90s work when he was a "true" pop star and the band wasn't "holding him back" (from obscurity).

Also, Bernard is not ashamed to release live Karaoke versions of "True Faith" with a tubby Bernard reading off of an autocue while the band plays along with tapes but is ashamed of live records and demos from the mid 80s? Needs to get his priorities straight. Remaster the 80s albums with bonus tracks and singles added!

I want remastered re-issues with faithful reproductions of the original sleeves, and a bonus disc with rarities. Just like Warners did with their other "indie" giants, R.E.M.!

Get a loaner from MDMA's historical preservation of Rob's grand archive.. IE, that Beach Club reel.

Getting that Turn single out would be a GREAT start.

Don't ignore that there are fans still kicking. Promote these guys, suck in new fans, get on the ball with shakin' New Order's moneymaker. Don't scrimp - splash out a little on them, it's worth it. They may not sell as much as a Top 40 act, but they have a seriously dedicated following.

Payola's still alive and well - if I can be tortured with hearing bars of "Turn" on golfmatches, surely you guys can get other songs similarily promoted in better ways. Pay a little attention to those radiowaves - XM, ClearChannel (oh the unholybeast it is) and maybe get some better spins of music videos in retailers like clothing shops and music stores.

There is no shame in bringing a little interest to the table. Especially in the USA, where I think the market's still a bit weak. Especially when people either know the PumpPanel Confusion, or just Blue Monday at the clubs.

Maybe they could try puttiung stuff and some nest-generation format like SACD, HDCD or DVD-A?

Well, Rhino records here in the states have done a great job at releasing remastered versions of the cd's by Elvis Costello, Echo and the Bunnymen, and The Cure. They set the bar pretty high. They would be the ones that would handle any New Order re-issues. Anyway, like with the Costello and Cure re-issues, make them double cd's. First disc is the album, the second would be out-takes, demos, live stuff or b-sides. I wouldn't put anything that's on Substance or any of the other collections that are out there. Then to make things really fun, release a live cd from that period between the re-issues. So, Movement would come out, a double cd, then release something like the Taras Schevchenko (sp?) show on cd. ( Don't get me wrong, something totally unreleased would be great, I'm not going to get my hopes up to high , and I'd rather have one full show as opposed to different shows cobbled together ). Then the next cd, and so on and so on...

A set of CD Singles - one for each of the 12" Vinyl Singles that were never released on CD (with original artwork in miniature form). All the singles would feature remastered as good as vinyl sound quality and the original track listings. Including both the Blue/White and Green sleeve versions of Ceremony and Run2. As a bonus they could include a CD Single of the Xmas Flexi - released just before Xmas it would be a ideal stocking filler!

The perfect Xmas would be rounded of with the simultaneous release of the Joy Division DVD set. To include both the rumoured Plan K footage and the film shot of Joy Division in the studio recording Unknown Pleasures (Malcolm Whitehead).

By the way noticed on the BBC Five Live commentary yesterday on the Mexico World Cup game that the commentator used the phrase "Everything's gone Green" to describe the crowds clothing - not sure if this was an intentional reference to our favourite band or not.

How about a actual official (remastered) release of JD's Substance and Here are the Young Men on DVD? Of course, it wouldn't sell, because the boots are so common.

2. The Beach Club from Rob's tapes
3. Properly remastered (not just louder) 2CD versions (w. bonus tracks) of the 80's albums

I personally would still like to see the "Recycle" project become a reality. I nice boxset (or two) with a CD5 for each single from the Factory era - like Depeche Mode and Cocteau Twins did in the early 90s. Each single would have artwork faithful to the original release and would include every version of the single from all of the original variants - 7", 12", and CD.

Like most of you, I would still like to get MTO, Run2 extended, The Perfect Pit, the full version of Shellshock, and the Xmas flexi on CD.

I don't know about every single to be released as a separate CD. It may have an aesthetic appeal but seriously I doubt I would put a Blue Monday single in my CD-player to hear what I can find on Substance. Though a perfectly remastered CD-release of Confusion (1983) would be welcome.

My suggestion to London / Warner is that they drop New Order from their roster if they can't be arsed promoting / marketing them properly and stop fobbing their fans off with rubbish greatest hits compilations that seem to outnumber the studio albums by about 2 to 1.....BUT NOT BEFORE THEY FINALLY GET THE MUCH-DROOLED AFTER DEFINITIVE "RECYCLE" BOX SET OF ALL THEIR SINGLES AND B-SIDES OUT FIRST - and packaged PROPERLY as well to do the whole thing justice.

Maybe leave the studio album remasters and repackagings to LTM records who seem to do such a good job of former Factory artists back catalogue....
