New Order has plenty of remixes and will always get the best people to remix their stuff.....
However, given Peter Hook's side career as a successful club dj , a question occurred to me...
Should Hooky or another band member remix New Order songs?
Granted, tghis is purely an intellectual exercise, but still interesting to ponder.
Pros? Cons?
remember that any dj can dj, but i think he should stay away from the 'remix' portion. i didn't really like his take on the killers 'all these things i've done'...
It would have been great if he kept all the vocals instead of using those cringe-inducing samples of soldiers talking.
Didn't Bernard do a remix of the Technotronic song "Rockin' over the beat"? It was titled something like "Rockin' over the beat (Rockin' over Manchester Hacienda Mix)". I thought it was rather good, so I wouldn't mind Bernard doing a remix of NO's songs.

Yeah,i remember that (in fact i know i`ve got the cd single somewhere!) but it isnt that much different from the original.

I still think it's a decent attempt. The worst type of remixes, though, in my opinion, is when the DJ hardly puts any of the original vocals in it. Like the "Superchumbo mix" of Pet Shop Boys' "Sexy Northerner".
