LWTUA vid with original vocals

Very strange that is. The sound doesn't synch with the video, yet unlike the clip common to most fans, the audio version matches the arrangement they are playing in the rehearsal room, i.e. like the version they did for John Peel. The vocals are at a different speed too. Anyone know more about this dub?

Isn't it largely known that the reason the studio version was cobbled onto the video was because the sound man didn't show up that day? I doubt it's audio from the actual video shoot.

Right, but is the backing track exactly the same as the Pennine Version?

I thought the band refused to mime to the backing track, so they played it live several times to film, but of course the vocals didn't sync up over different takes, so Ian recorded a special overdub just for the video...though it was eventually replaced by the version commonly seen. I may be wrong though.

I think it was more the case that the live video recording had a poor mix in that the vocals were too quiet. You can hear them under the louder vocal. Obviously Ian became unavailable to fix them so a previous studio take was badly dubbed over the whole thing.

The resulting video was only shown once if I recall, on a Saturday morning show called 'Fun Factory' presented by Ray Teret (older Manchester people will know who he is).
